F80 tuned oil consumption

Hey guys , just wondering

Do any of you run the S55 tuned ?

I do ,and i notice a usage of oil , as where i can understand somehow' i need to know if my toughts are correct

the usage is around 1l/4000kms and driving is somewhat agressive
this could be burnig off due to temperature that i also had in my corsa

so im not sure , cant find anything on the web

running around 6/700 hp

Cheers

I have Stage 1 (street) and GTS (track) tunes. BMW considers oil consumption of 1 L in 750 miles “normal”. However, the BMWs I currently own and track (three cars) consume little to no oil and no oil has to be added between oil changes.

I have a stage 2 M4 and burn a liter ever 2-3k miles, from my mechanic I’ve understood this is normal. Install an oil catch can to prevent any debris from accumulating and you should be good.

Tunes BMW motors sure seem to have a lot of various nagging issues. Just my impression from reading forums.

I went from stock to Stage 2 with DP at 82k km and after a 2000km road trip on mainly motorway the min oil level warning came up

I put a litre in and measured it and it went back to max.

So from the oil service at 82k km to around 88k km it used around a litre.

No drops since and just change oil again at 92k km

So maybe the sustained high speed motorway runs burnt some oil? I’m only guessing.

In summary I’ve had stage 2 since last May. 10k km and it’s been amazing.

Daily driver and still cracks 300km/ with ease.

Oil consumption is a lot lower under sustained rpm vs. hard driving with repeated redline shifts. 1 L in 6k km (3728 miles) is well within the normal range for most manufacturers. BMW is fine with 1L in 1.2k km. So 1 L in 6k km to BMW that’s equivalent to a car that doesn’t consume oil

Cool. I left Stuttgart at 5am to take advantage of low traffic on autobahn and I hooned it to Calais.

Love the way it can just sit at 250km/h

Well, cruising at 250 kph (155 mph) will consume more oil than when cruising at 160 kph (100 mph). Didn’t realize your location is where sustained speeds of 250 kph are allowed!

It’s wild here but such a good car culture take it is safe.

I took a trip to Munich to go to Bmw Museum while having brakes upgraded by a local specialist.

I was tipping along at 270km/h and a tuned M8 came past me like I was stopped!

It’s at times like those I think about stage 3 hybrid turbos!

Absolutely. People in Europe respect the roads, have proper road etiquette, and obey the laws. Here in the US people believe it is a right to drive, have zero road etiquette, and believe they own, or are the only one on, the road.

I just purchased a 2017 M3 with 10,235 and immediately installed a Mishimoto Catch Can. I hope that this helps to mitigate the oil consumption oil, but I do realize that this is in reference to tuned S55's.
