Here is the official thread for my build I just picked-up:

Mods list:

4N Motorsport Single turbo kit featuring the special custom Manifold, Garrett 6765R, Tial Wastegates, open dump w/ single downpipe

-Brembo GT Kit 380 w/ type 3 rotors endless me20 pads
-18 inch Apex EC-7 on Michelin's
-JRZ coilovers
-Dinmann Front lip and side Skirts
-Morph Auto Design fang wang
-LCI Euro Headlights installed by Justin at AutoTalent
-Custom paint match on front facia grilles/ reflectors
-CF GTS hood (wrapped to match)
-ceramic tint all around. PPF roof, ceramic coating
-EURO GTS seats
-Custom roll cage w/ delete
-M performance electronic steering wheel, e brake, armrest
-ind steering wheel trims
-VRSF single midpipe
-Remus axel back exhaust using CG precision VSC-2 w/ custom settings
-switched to ECUTEK tune. Had good experience on my last tune, just realizing how ECUTEK acts different on this application.
-SSR installed pinned crankhub
-BMP port injection
-CSF top mount intercooler, Dinan front mount
-Varis Rear diffuser
-Turbosmart Blow-off Valve
-GTS fire extinguisher
-LCI euro tailights

My goal with this build: Do a perfect timeless enthusiast spec to maintain interest in this platform as the new M3/ M4 gets released this year. Car is track-ready after some more prep

I'm going to ask a question that I 99% probably know the answer to, but this really is my ideal vision for this car, so it's worth asking. Is there any way to change to single turbo and still pass OBD emissions? As in integrating both MAF sensors, all O2 sensors, stock cats, and tune for emissions compliance? Illinois doesn't have smog, but the OBD emissions test is coming up next year for my car, and the only thing stopping me from seriously considering this is the test. Also, the car would be unsellable if there was no way to pass after installing this. But I've never wanted to install a modification more than this.

I don't have the answer to your question, and I don't think you are correct in terms of whether it's sellable or not, IMO. This is what I wanted done, and I got it done. Zero regret

It would be "unsellable" in Illinois because I wouldn't be able to renew registration if emissions doesn't pass, and the next buyer would have the same problem. That's the problem.

It's your build, do what you want, everything is reversible if needed

There are ways...get a PO box at a UPS location in a zip thats exempt and register the vehicle to that box. Being that UPS doesnt use PO XXX on the address it looks like a legit address. They use # so it looks like an apartment. Thats how I would register my vehicles. I lived in Franklin Park, Elk Grove, and Streamwood but had my PO box in woodstock. Drove out there once a month to check for mail and it ran me like $8.00 a month. Worth it.

Just wish the turbo didn't have to be so buried. Wanna see an s55 with a giant single next to the block like the OG JDM 6s (2jz / RB26).

You can do a top mount when kits are released. Big drawback is you need all new coolers, lots more modifications, and it's already designed to place the turbo where the stock ones are for bottom mount for better cooling
