Vorsteiner Diffuser Fitment: GTS-V 4250
I went through past threads on the forum beforehand and understand fitment may not be perfect, but I simply can't get the sides to stay up with the bumper.
The attached pictures show the gap and overall poor fitment on driver's side, and while the passenger side sags a bit as well its much less and bearable. Anyone have similar issues and determine a fix? I received the Vorsteiner instructions from a forum member (thank you L33t) but no where does it say to drill an additional hole so not really sure if this is just a bad part or what. |

It looks to me your choice of double sided tape is a tad on the thick side and have them too far out to the exterior corners. My suggestion is to run no tape. It helps with flush fitment and if properly screwed in place, it should not fly off anywhere. There should be at least (4) screws on each sidefor support. You should also be assisting by pushing up on the parts while screwing them in place ensuring it doesn't leave room for sag. |

I had a similar issue ... here are a few things I did to make it work ... the outcome was practically no gap (maybe 1-2mm at the most).
1. Use STRONG 3M (or similar high-end brand) for double tape. Make sure to use "outdoor" tape since it will be exposed to the elements. I went with a non-foam based tape since it can split like in your case (from the picture) This is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Extrem...5672091&sr=8-5 NOTE: Taking it off is a HUGH pain in the ass so keep that in mind. Be VERY careful as taking off the diffuser with this tape may crack it. 2. When applying the double tape, make sure to pay attention to the areas with a lot of surface area so that you have good adhesion to the bumper from the diffuser. You want a nice-sized flat area to stick onto. Obviously, clean the surfaces so no dust/etc. 3. The bracket on the underside near the exhaust needs to be adjusted as high as possible to pull the whole diffuser up; it will help minimize downward pressure. Also make sure all the underside screws are in place and tight. 3. Once you have it installed with proper double tape, use painter's blue masking tape. Initially put the table on the underside of the side of the diffuser and while pushing with your own strength, pull up toward the side of the bumper and apply the same strip of tape to the side of the bumper ... basically pulling the diffuser toward the bumper, and leave it there for a day or two. This will allow the double tape to really stick and hold the diffuser in place. This process worked for me pretty well. My Vorstiener diffuser has been on for a couple of months and the gap is the same without any issue. I hope this helps you. |

Thanks all for the help. Going to remove the bumper and install it with 2 additional screws on each side + some 3M.
The 3M in the pictures looks thick because it was a hot day and it was being stretched from the tension of the diffuser hanging, that being said will be sure to keep it away from edges to avoid more gap. Should be on tomorrow and will post an update. |

TLDR you're not alone.
It's a known issue that I've taken up with Vorsteiner directly. I actually got a second set and it has the same gapping issue. Both were fresh new batches with a lot of waiting time. Now I'm still waiting for my third new diffuser to test fitment. I've run two bought new Vorsteiner GTS diffusers before this predicament and had zero fitment issues though both did require extra screws. I'd hazard a guess that they have a fundamental mold issue at whichever Chinese factory they get these made. So far they've been cooperative but not without having me spend a not insignificant amount time, expen$e and energy to voice/prove my dissatisfaction. I honestly am disappointed with their qc as it's clear now that it's not an isolated case. I'm dealing with it all because it's hands down the best looking diffuser for the f8x.

I didn't use any tape on mind, drilled it right in and fitment was 100% perfect. No lie it took 15 minutes to install it. Is there a reason some of you are using tape? If anything I think the tape would create a gap and it's not needed.

Finally was able to get the part on well. Took the bumper off and that made the install much easier in terms of getting the right fitment.
Installed with the tape that spdrcrgtr recommended. Thank you for that, much appreciated. The tape worked great and only had to install 2 additional screws in the diffuser and bumper. Fitment is good, I wouldn't say perfect but i'm happy with the final result. |

I ordered the Status Gruppe 2x2 CF OEM-style skirts when I got the car and they sent the wrong ones that stuck out extra far... I hated it.
They should be shipping the correct replacement extensions this week and then the car will be a bit more balanced with the skirt extensions, diffuser, and CS lip! |
