Finally, a functional (but not cheap) brake cooling kit

I was browsing the Schirmer parts store for fun and saw this brake cooling kit which just came out recently-

It seems to be well designed - with vents blowing into the rotor hub instead of the rotor face (Revozport I'm looking at you!). However the price does seem to be on the higher end. At current rate it is around US$1070. Hope to see a review of this kit on the forum soon!

they are definitely not cheap. Hopefully there will be a more economical alternative in the future

For the same price, you can get StopTech two piece rotors and ditch the front brake dust shields.

I tried various cooling solutions, and finally went with a full StopTech trophy Big Brake kit and ditched the dust shields. Cooling issues are gone. If I were to do it again, I would just ditch the dust shields and get decent two piece rotors like StopTech or GiroDisc

I'm running an Essex/AP Racing F/R BBK, and I still need brake cooling. The 2 piece rotor designs help but I'm still cooking through rotors faster than I'd like to be. I'm running without dust shields. Eventually you'll get to a pace where cooling is still necessary unless you don't mind going through consumables quickly.

Schirmer stuff is top notch, he runs these cars on the ring for thousands of kilometers so there is a lot of R&D that goes into his solution. Price isn't that bad if you keep this mind.

I would give Tom a call (great guy), he will spend the time with you. The pictures of the product may not necessarily represent the exact application. I know the e9x version requires their custom front splitter - but I'm not sure how the f8x version works.
