Perhaps. But it's the difference in a Hoover and a glorious sound. I like the Touring and would gladly give up a little performance for the sounds and feedback.

I guess but I can tell you if I owned a GT3 it would see way more street time than track time. Maybe a removable wing is the needed compromise?

No, just drive around with the wing on. It also makes the GT3 a bit less tail happy.

I just do not need the attention the wing brings TBH. Maybe the answer is a 991.1 GTS but they cost almost as much as a GT3, it's insane what NA GTS go for, even 997's.

Negligible power increase vs .2. Have yet to get into all of the technical details, but will be interesting to see how it's differentiated from behind the wheel. Has to be pretty darn incremental, I'd think.

the more purposeful and track-focused, the better imo. It's what they're good for.

Preuninger's instincts are just spot on. Made one error with no manual in 991.1, then corrected it. Looks at the 992 shifter nub, says no, puts in something that would be fun to interact with. He's a proper driving enthusiast. Other brands could benefit from similar guys at the helm.

Based on everything I’ve heard and gathered from the Harris and Catchpole interviews it seems like this 992 GT3 has upped the ante to being more akin to the .2 RS. While you usually see the trickle down of some RS in the next gen car you don’t see quite so much as the 992 has received. I expect this car will perform above the level of a .2 3RS.
I am glad to see it still has a manual available (which is almost like being able to get a manual RS now per my thoughts above) and that the weight has not increased despite the 992s overall larger dimensions. AP really does seem like such a genuine car guy who knows exactly how to implement and deliver the more pure and joyful motoring experience.

I applaud the upgrades in aero and suspension but it's similar enough to the 991.2 that I have no interest in upgrading. Also shows Porsche was truly focused on track gains vs. a pissing match over HP numbers unlike most other brands.

With rumors strengthening that the 992.2 will see hybrid power (with some bonkers tech coming out of a 2023 918 replacement) and then all electric after, I am hoping I can keep my 991.2 forever and add a hybrid 992.2 RS for a garage mix of pure NA and performance tech before everything is solely electric focused.

They have the GT3 Touring (for the 991 gen) for people who hate the wing and/or will never track it.
