How does S55 handle full E85

So i am currently running BM3 Stage 2 on my M4 competition with catless downpipes as well as charge pipes. I want to go ahead and get the BM3 Stage 2 E30 Tune which will obviously allow me to run some E85 in my tank, around 4-5 gallons worth (just estimating). Now i was wondering... how is it going full E85 with these S55 motors? Will it be like Subies and Evos where you need to upgrade fuel pumps, injectors, etc... Ive been reading everywhere that all you really need to do is change spark plugs, which is normal maintenance in itself. Just would like to hear some thoughts!

You want the truth?

YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! 😂

Info below is courtesy of Bend Calibration, take out from it what you will, but if you want to err on the side of 100% caution, well......

Flex Fuel, pump gas to E85

Injector Cleaning Requirement

This is straight from the E85 tuner’s mouth. But feel free to take advice from faceless interweb experts

You can run E30 no problem. To go full E85 the tuner needs to push the HPFPs to get you enough fuel, and sometimes the pressure breaks the injector's valve internally (injector sticks, open, shut, partway open) in my case. If you do E85 get a small gasohol tester to use at the pump before filling your car. I filled up plus 3x 5gal drop tanks and it was all E70!!!

Install fresh NGK 97506 plugs at 0.022gap, and replace after 15Kmi.

I have been running a full E85 map from Cary Jordan for almost a year. I have not had any issues with this setup

Are you running E85 on aftermarket turbos with PI, or stock fueling and stock turbos?

Great info!

When they mention getting your fuel injectors cleaned once a year, how do you do that? What are the procedures?

Take them out and ship them to a shop who specializes in it. I believe there is one in LA called RC Fuel Injection.
About $25 per injector for cleaning and flow test.

Hmm at that point, probably better to use FCP euro's lifetime warranty and just change them out for new ones every year.

Nice to know that our DI injectors can be cleaned/tested. My Audi's could not.

You are pushing the stock fuel and ignition systems with e85. People seem to experience stuck injectors and burned up ignition coils. To be fair, this is exactly the same thing that happens when you increase duty cycle closer to maximum on most cars. Coils will burn up with use but not as fast as plugs.

E85 + bigger than stock turbos needs fueling upgrades whether that is port or direct injection. You will find many have resorted to port injection or methanol injection. There have recently been people starting to upgrade the direct injection with eu5 m5 injectors and upgraded high pressure fuel pumps.

You answered my question before I could even type it out ...
I was thinking - what about M5/M6/X5M injectors.

Is it really ONLY the euro S63 injectors that have a higher flow rate?
