Seems like iOS 13 CarPlay supports custom resolutions and aspect ratios, can anyone please share how CarPlay looks like in iOS 13 with older/not coded BMWs (with half screen CarPlay at the moment).

i wasn't aware ios13 was even out yet. i believe we're still at ios12.3.1

So, managed to install iOS 13 Beta 1 in my iPhone and sadly no, it doesn’t go full screen

Although not sure if some basic coding would fix that...

I installed ios13 tonight also. It's awesome. Can't wait for the final version 😇

I got the files from here https://betaprofiles.com/

Installed it with a PC using 3utools. This app also has its own way to download the ispw.

There are some grumblings elsewhere on the forums that full screen CarPlay drops the frame rate. Has this been anyone else’s experience here?

I've got it and have noticed no framerate issues. I do still have iOS 12 though

The home screen remembers the last 3 used items. If I say "hey Siri", she always used apple maps. If I want to use Waze I'd google maps, I just ha e to select it. I sort all the maps next to each other to make things easier.

It there is, I haven't noticed any frame rate issues with full screen in either ios12 or ios13 😇

Update - had the vehicle at the dealer today and they did a software update to Q version. Don't have access just yet to post the full details of the version details, just know that it was updated to Q.

My wife started to explain that she was having trouble with idrive and the SA jumped right in before she could finish and asked if we were getting a black screen which wouldn't go away until a restart - she was a bit surprised but said yes, yes, we were experiencing that! To which the SA said they've seen that before and they'll update the software which should fix it!

So now need to ask the widescreen hackers if they're fully open past P or if their solutions only go as far as Q.
