iDrive Firmware Update -> CarPlay Fullscreen - Video Process

Hello,

We’ve recorded a video to show you guys a process of iDrive (NBTEvo) Firmware Update/Flash

Newest firmware allows for Fullscreen Carplay.
Process is exactly the same in case of iDrive 4 to iDrive 6 FLASH.

I still need get my iDrive firmware updated before adding CarPlay Fullscreen.

kubax did this for me 2 weekends ago and it was a great smooth experience. The idrive update does take about 40 minutes like he says in he video but he provides communication through messaging the whole time and knows his stuff. Highly recommended!

Newest software from my experiences usually lags less than the old ones but there is no significant upgrade about smoothness.

My 2016 328i doesn't have backup camera.... is it possible to add it after this update?

Yes it is, either OEM or aftermarket although we don't supply it.

I have a 2020 F82, since the latest iOS update, my CarPlay has been going crazy, sometimes it shows up on screen, but plays through my phone, other times it plays faint with static and the external dialogue displays in the heads up display. Any clue as to what's going on?

Tbh my guess is that you still have the 2015 processing components and they just aren’t up to date with the new tech.

That’s a shame as have the x5 options added but they don’t match with my retrofit
