You are absolutely entitled to your personal view that sports cars are limited to two-door, two-seater cars, but let's not get carried away into thinking that your opinion is somehow "technical" because it certainly isn't based on any authoritative reference. Personally, I subscribe to a more inclusive definition of sports car, because--at least to me--the idea that cars like the Porsche 911 aren't "sports cars" seems a little silly. |

Well, Boss and Sedan Clan have pretty said everything else that needs to be said.
But I will add this, you stop using M3 ownership as an excuse to substantiate your opinion above everyone else's and I won't bring up age again. Deal? A LOT of us have been around cars for a while now and have done some form of competitive racing in them. What car I personally have in my garage right now isn't my entire vehicular history. |

The streets bro. Take a C5 corvette, and park it next to any M3. Ask random folks, which one of these two cars is a sports cars. You'd be lucky to have anyone say the M3.

Park a Lotus Evora S (2+2) next to the C5, and your argument becomes invalid. As said, no universally accepted definition of a sports car.

I drove a 335is with dinan stage II for a few years before my M3 and my son seemed to think the exhaust note was a little louder after the tune was added, it was a vert so when top was down the exhaust note was a big part of the driving experience and it didn't always fart when shifting and Im not sure why, but the engine was moody and so was the sound it made. Perhaps it had something to do with the heat soak I so often hear about. The 335is sounded very much like the M4 in this video except that the M4 does seem deeper and louder. My personal preference is that the s65 sounds better (stock to stock exhaust) but sound wasn't why I upgraded to the M3. |

Secondly, the word "usually" is also correct as usually a sports car only seats two, however as the 911 and Lotus Evora etc. show us, there are several established sports cars that seat more than two ![]() So, by definition, a sports car is not confined to two seats only (as was claimed), but there are more sports cars with two seats than there are with 4 seats (2+2). |

...two seater sports cars, sports coupes, sports sedans, etc. 'Sport' is just an umbrella term for a genre of car and is not singular defining in and of itself. It's like big boobs! What are big boobs exactly? 34 D? 34 DD? 34 F? I mean....the conversation could go on for days. |

No 550i will ever sound like mine. Silly 550i's, trix are for kids. ![]() Come to think of it no S55 will ever sound like this either but with that 7,500rpm redline it should still sound very good. ![]()

Breathe cowboy! Nobody ever suggested that (..in fact, my original statement was in favor of the ///M5), but I do prefer the sound clip that I posted over yours. Just being honest. |

![]() Also funny story about that GTHaus 550i. Not once but twice I've ran into that car on the road. Once with my E60 M5 with RPi GT exhaust and RPi Catless Headers and the second time with my RPi GTM F10 M5 with catless downpipes. The first time the driver kept revving his engine at me as we drove over the Coronado bridge. I taught that clown a lesson with the S85 V10. The second time, no contest once they heard my F10 M5 in person. I just don't like the Korean made Meistershaft exhausts they use. Lol! ![]() It's all good brotha just bustin ur chips for fun. Happy Holidays. ![]()
