Anybody have any experience with the CTS Turbo Intercooler? I have started seeing the symptoms of Intercooler failure on my 2016 F80, so a replacement is imminent. Not looking for an "upgrade" necessarily, just something reliable. Have heard stories of people replacing OEM ones multiple times & still developing leaks. Any comments are appreciated.

CTS doesn't use bell or even garrett cores for their AWICs.

CFS has also been promising results based comparisons for years now and has continued to blow off requests for factual data, even going as far as to having the audacity to dispute 3rd party test results (look up Kies Motorsports CSF intercooler review). If you look through the threads here on the forum, you'll see this in action as well as how they've relied solely on a marketing strategy focused on the number of units sold as oppose to anything backed up by proven data.

Exactly. If you want a quality one build it yourself with a bell core and call it done. I don’t think there’s anyone who uses good cores on the market at all. You guys should research what different kinds of cores do and see what fin density, double vs single pass and of course material selection has to do with the function of an air or air or air to water core. Garrett’s used to be a lot better, but even with their reduced quality there a damn site better than the Chinese shit these other vendors are slapping in cores and backing up with zero data. Sales doesn’t mean shit.

mishimoto cooler with heat exchanger has testing data and looks to be the best option in my opinion. all others i have seen personally dynoed show hp loss over stock ones if not leaking. the real problem is the stock unit will eventually leak 100%

How about DO88?
For what's worth, I think aftermarket aluminum coolers eventually would suffer heat soak. Ingress and egress parts of the charger cooler would get heat soaked and transfer heat to the actual cooler core inside? https://autocouturemotoring.com/prod...xoC9HAQAvD_BwE

Too bad no one has designed a large garret front mount IC/piping and forgo the complexities of the stock cooling system. To me simplicity is best..
