Burbles BM3

Dear all,

Help would be very much appreciated. I have a stock 2015 non-ZCP M4. I have just installed the CS map through BM3 and the GTS transmission update. The burbles are very very quiet through both OEM/ OTS settings.

I was wondering what the burble settings are for the stage 1 map, or how aggressive it is safe to go with the sliders under a custom burble setting with a completely stock car?

Thanks

Kam

- Burbles are very much subjective; and I guess it is a very personal setting. What may be quiet to some, maybe irksome to others.
- Burble are configurable. Play around with the settings, don't worry about having a stock car. Set these to what you like.
- You may or may not like Stage 1 OTS burbles, so don't get the Stage1 just for the burbles; best is to play with custom burble settings on CS and find what you like.
- Have you disabled the Active Sound?
- Reset adaptations as well.

I personally prefer the CS map, as it is so much more linear; actually prefer it to Stage 1; especially with the lack of open clear roads in South, and the great wet British weather we have !
CS is so much more drivable...

Thank you GSPannu for the detailed response, much appreciated.

I just worry by being very aggressive with the burble options (i.e. level 12), that I may end up ruining my cats!

At the moment even with the windows down i struggle to hear the burble with my music turned off.

However i may try resetting all the adaptations tommorow to see if that makes a diff. Active sound is currently disabled.

What are your current settings?

Dumb question: I assume you are running in Sport or Sport+ modes? You won’t here burbles in Efficient.

I personally think 12 is way too high.
My settings are fairly low; 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 0, 64, 1200, 5600 - but I do have the MPE so maybe such low settings work for me. Also, I like the burbles to be subtle and not annoyingly aggressive/ loud.

Burbles completely off is the best. I disabled them in my M2Comp last week and the car doesn't sound broken anymore!

Are burbles and gunshots one in the same? I like the low rumbling burble sound but not a fan of the gunshots. Is it possible to increase burbles and not have gunshots?

I have my aggressiveness for burbles down at 0.5 with duration at 2 sec. I have a stock non ZCP with exhaust valves always open. Most of the time now it sounds like a rumble and is fine. I still think the burble at the 1-2 up shift (6mt) is too aggressive as it sounds like the engine just falls apart. I thought stock and OTS settings were too aggressive and loud but maybe due to valves always open? Definitely no gunshots for me.

Had this same question and was told from PTF that they don't suggest going past 5.6 for burble settings on stock cats.

I'm fairly close to stock (ER downpipes, chargepipes) everything else is stock. I believe I chose around a 3 setting and its still not terribly loud. Keep in mind that there is a minimum RPM so if you dont cross that you hear nothing. Also, you need to get past that RPM and lift off the gas to actually hear the burbles. The shift up burble isnt something I really hear ever.

I have just put up a new post; asking a similar question. I have suggested to populate a full table with details of all maps.

See post here... and lets see what information turns up.

I think they are being too conservative. That being said, they know their tune better than me
