Right. Unlike the other manufacturers who strip their cars down, rebuild it, and document that theirs is indeed "stock" before they hit the Ring.

Hence I would like to see a third party testing the cars. That's all I was saying.

^This and where they got the cars from. Off the lot/privately owned car or a loaner direct form the manufacturer. I can't remember the exact article, but I've read more than one detailing the games manufactures have played to get a 'Ring time. One of the reasons I don't trust hardly any of them.

It's possible, I have read stories Ferrari would supply different setup for different tests. But If Sport Auto detect something is off, they will usually point it out. For the last F10 M5 CP test they suspected they got an extra powerful car. It tested 649PS on their dyno and did 295km/h on the Dottinger Hohe straight at the ring (that straight is an excellent indication of a car's top end power).

295km/h was faster than Porsche 911 Turbo at that time and in fact, the latest F90 M5 only did 290km/h. Sure the cars were tested at different days but still, it was a monster F10 M5 in terms of straight line prowess.

Sport Auto's ring test driver can typically get within 5 seconds of the factory time. If they can drive the QV around 7:37ish, I would certainly believe QV's factory time of 7:32.

Guys whose cars will never see a racetrack arguing over a few seconds on a 13 mile circuit. Even if the car did see a track there ain't a damn one of you that can come close to attaining stated lap times. So, what's it come down to? A dick measuring contest. Yawn.

the knocking sound when on full lock sounds really nasty, just to give to the crowd, My M4 GTS, and PORSCHE GT4, and M3 CSL did just the same knocking sound on full lock- they all did it.

no doubt the giulia is quicker, it not only puts power down better (yes i know tyres) but you can actually feel it

in fact driving the giulia with that silky smooth zf8 is starting to make the dct in m3 feel so old and jerky in stop start traffic, this zf8 and the tuning some manufacturers are pulling off really have made the dual clutch obsolete

it's not without it's own issues, the braking (with ceramics) takes a lot of getting used too to pull up smoothly in the last few metres, the super direct steering that is so great in hills makes you involuntarily dart across your lane when you hit big bumps and move your hands on the wheel, the knocking sound when on full lock sounds really nasty - these are teething issues of a new chassis and tech, and i assume will be sorted in time

keen to check out the stelvio qv when it lands locally and if there's been any incremental trim improvements. apple carplay pretty much levels the infotainment playing field imo, and like i've said before, all it needs is a handful of switchgear re-done to sort the interior

Anyway, Its alot of talk of this video from the internet wariors

we who accually drive tracks often can hear this car is NOT driven on real R - Compound this is the shity Corsa tire!
Its a stress out and overheated poor Cors street tire on this car. A pirelli Tropy- R compound dont make this noice.

Oh, and the 7.32 time is real. All those driving Nurburgring regulary can tell these things If you also tested Alfa there. As we know its not that hard to set this car or other cars ap. 10 seconds slower than the factory laps. And If your average Joe driving this track once a year could be ap. 10 seconds slower that its a no brainer what the factory can do this 7.32min.
The biggest challenge on the Corsa tire are that when on a new set you instant in the first lap must set fastest lap. If fail tire will fail more and more and fastet lap will never come, If not you got the cash to put new every lap, like factory when they lap!

Good thing the driver's massive balls were lowering the CG of that Alfa, otherwise he would have been toast.

Going in for the snow tire change Friday AM. I actually do drive it in the Winter, but just hate getting that beautiful Rosso Competizione paint filthy after doing a multi-hour detail. New England is beautiful, but very messy. Spring rain/mud/pollen, Winter Salt/slush. Be grateful to be living in CA.

Alfa Q got active front aero, M4 GTS dont. The Alfs feels strong in straight line, and the aero front do not stopp it like M4 GTS front max-out splitter reduce the speed in high speeds. Alfa feels as fast as M4 GTS, maybe faster it feel.

When my friend pull what ever speeds in his 991.2 GT3 in the highway, I am just in his rear bumper all the time no matter the speed. He can not lose me what ever! He was a bit surprised by this fact🤓

Hell no, its not me. Its Masersti test driver.
But I will say its not that hard to put cars ap. 10 seconds off the factory pace. That is an average Joe can pretty easy do that. Hence when you see that then you know its a stock car that did the factory lap. And the understandings for laptimes around here is more easy to understand. Then conspiracy-theory is not the first things that you think of. Like its more the guys never been here that talk about the conspiracy-theory —like its not real- it must been a rocket on the roof-that laptime is not possible - its on slicks - or nitro these things

I know that lap is real, very real. Its just that simple and its not that fast anyway. Also, its driven on the STOCK CORSA TIRES. Agressive real R-Compound tires do not make this sound. Its corsa stock tires, its street tire and the make that noise, like a pig. Its due to it overheat and can not handle the pressure as it no real tracktire(like Tropy-R / CUP2)

For a come back Alfa Romeo did a great job! the Giulia Quadrifoglio is more raw, racy feeling than all competitors. Check my review and see how much the car sound good for a stock V6 Twin-Turbo

I don’t get the sound compliments for the QV. I think it sounds very close to a stock M3/4, which is not great to bad. Had I bought one I would’ve ended up getting an aftermarket exhaust on it just like my current M3.
