I would not want a different diameter wheel on an axle connected to a locking diff. I do not know the details of the latest active M differentials and the difference in diameters are slight with standard tires, but I personally wouldn't risk it.

Not to drive for long distance just from track to home, I just want to make sure it physically fits and doesn't run for whatever reason. It shouldn't but just wanted to check with the different offset wanted to make sure it also clears the wheels.

The standard offsets are 29 front and 40 rear, so fitting a front wheel in the back represents a functional difference of -11mm. Use of a 12 mm spacer in the back is fairly common practice, including on my own car. This results in a difference of -1 mm compared to using a front wheel in the back with no spacer. Although I've fortunately not had to use it, I carry a front wheel in the boot for a spare. If I ever have to use it in the back, I'll just remove the spacer. There is a minimal difference in rolling circumference, so when you use it you turn off the traction control and drive carefully.

There are several spare kits available for the F80/82/83. Note: They won't fit over CCB.

F82. I put 3 in backseat and 1 in trunk. Some are able to squeeze all 4 in the back seat.
