Dyno: BM3 Stage 1 on stock 2017 f80 M3 (6MT)

Off the shelf stage 1 tune on a stock 2017 M3.

The two before runs: 407 and 411 hp.
the two after runs: 479 and 487 hp.

Pretty pleased with it!

Congrats... and thanks for sharing your Dyno. Did you have the comp pack for your base numbers?

Very good numbers. I’ll be doing the same to MY18 ZCP M3 on Monday. Will post numbers on here.

Very inexpressive for an out of the box tune. I would do this too but am afraid it would cause issues with my warranty.

Same here. I want a tune so bad but the dealers in my area are flagging cars left and right. I don't want to spin a crank hub and be on the line for 20k+

Nice numbers tho. I am very tempted to get a Dinan tune just to keep my warranty and have a peace of mind but $2500 for a tune is not justifiable to me.

$2500 for a ~70hp increase is a relative bargain as far as modifications go (yes other tunes can be cheaper). If you are concerned with warranty, then avoid mods altogether. The cars are enjoyable stock. I’m surprised by how many people want to keep warranties with modified cars. The saying goes “you pay to play” when modifying cars. Key being you pay, not the manufacturer.

It is not just the tune, it is also the warranty, as you already pointed out

Eh...

$2500 for 70hp on a 140 hp car might make sense but $2500 on a 444hp car to get 70hp isn't that much. Especially forced induction as a base.

Manufacturers always have conservative tunes on forced induction hence the easy power.

Thanks for posting up the results OP. One question, what octane rating are you running? Is the tune specific to that? Nevertheless, I am very impressed. Looks like I made up my mind.

Good choice. I just flashed mine BM3 Stage 2 91 last weekend. Completely different car now...

Best decision of 2020 hands down. And its only 3 weeks into the year lol

Awesome. All in. Appreciate the feedback. By chance, did you install the DCT GTS flash too?

Thanks! I'm running 93, and yes the stage 1 was specific to that. You can really feel the difference as well, it pulls harder and is very noticeable. Traction in 2nd at WOT is an issue.

I just did this same map but with the DCT tune and it is night / day. Before the DCT flash I thought my friend's 718 PDK was obviously better. I don't feel that way now. The shifts are noticeably smoother and more seamless although it does seem to want to get into 7th as quickly as possible in automatic mode now.

I’m interested in any other feedback on the GTS flash. Did you do the MDM flash too or is that part of the DCT flash?

GTS Flash make a noticeable difference in the shifting response and it's a little better knowing what gear to be in.

GTS MDM is not a flash and requires to be coded in, got my done by Alex @ Alpine here on the forums. It definitely allows more spin than stock and a bigger yaw rate.

Totally agree with the GTS DCT flash (although, you may have to use the CS option in bm3 if you have a newer model year). The shift algorithm feels better all over vs the stock DCT software on my MY16 F82.

For the MDM, consider the Euro version of coding. Per Alex@Alpine at the time of my remote code session, degree of allowed slip is:
DSC full on < MDM < GTS MDM < Euro MDM < DSC full off
