Cool GTS TCU Flash - bootmod3

While testing with the local DCT M4 beta car we have gone through what is involved to program the TCU in detail at the comm protocol level. Nerdy things aside, shifts are more crisp, especially downshifts. Added clamping force on the clutches is also a great bonus. We're working on hooking it into the bootmod3 app so its just a flash away including restore back to stock programming. More to follow

This is only product that is even remotely close to allowing OBD flashing AFTER the initial bench flash.

http://www.flashtec.ch/index.php/pro...126-spiderboot

ATM, There is NO way to gain read/write access to Tricore based DME/ECU without bench flash.

$1218 for a pack of 10 spiders(spider is married to the car after initial flash)..not bad. These are master tuner prices ofcourse, I don't think Flashtec even sells onesie twosies to the retail market(end user). Safe to assume this cost will get passed down to the vehicle owner.

I saw this a long time ago. Add another board inside? Makes no sense to me honestly you open the DME solder this thing in??? And then what? Where is the rest of the solution to datalog and switch maps and transmission flash. bootmod3 is so far ahead of the game its ridiculous.

Not entirely sure- the tuning community is very tight lipped about who/what/where their technology comes from. In particular, if its homegrown or white labeled from the likes of Flashtech, Frieling, etc who offer white labeling of their own tech.

in the Flashtech world- I hope they eventually add support for Tricore into their Android Personal Flasher(droidpersonalflasher.com) that would be really neat.

Considering PTF made mention a desire to move away from TP because of 'its dependency on having to use a Windows machine' its not outside the realm of possibilities.

In any case..this is all speculation. I really do wish the tuners would simply be more transparent about the whole thing. Show us your R&D, your engineers/code monkeys sitting at a bench pushing buttons or something.

Is it the same as GTS or VF TCU tune? If not what can you say about being better and why? I think you wouldn't want to compare it with another vendor but, I believe you can compare it with GTS tune at least
Also do you consider the changes of hardware from stock to GTS which were a part of another thread? You do a lot of testing, but still I'm a bit afraid when it comes to transmission.
