Is there a way to tell what the date is on your current software? I've got an early 2016 model that would probably benefit.
I also want to be able to verify that it was updated if I ask for it. 😀 |

Paying for it is always a novel idea rather than making up lies.

Didn't work either. I tried to pay for it, the dealer refused and insisted they had no idea what I was talking about. The only thing he had on file was that I drive update. Said there was nothing else available to update.

Didn't realize what you were facing, give your money to a coder, it will be cheaper, you'll be happier, and don't worry about the ethics as you tried to do it all above board initially.

I told my dealership that my headunit was rebooting intermittently. And when they checked the headunit, they said that the car just need to be reprogrammed. But when they tried reprogramming the car, they broke the headunit and had to replace it with a remanufactured unit.

My car is an October 2016 build and it was updated to the latest 03/2018 software by the dealer.
Really really wish it wasn't updated. The car is definitely more sluggish at low rpm and it restored the DCT to the jerky non GTS software. I'm also pretty sure the exhaust got less loud. Keep it as it is and code GTS steering, diff and MDM settings. Only plus is they did it for free. |

Awesome, I really need to get this done. Im just a wimp when it comes to messing with warranty items. My 2017 DCT was awesome until Nov. 2017 integration which was done to my car without my consent.. sad to hear the march integration did not fix it.

Just make sure you get the GTS coding from someone reputable. Some tell you they are coding and don't actually do anything. |

I am afraid to take the car in for free servicing now.
They should be applying the zcp or cs software on all these cars. There is no difference in the drive train in these cars |

Hey guys, just wanted to clear the air on some discussion here. The gts dct/suspension FLASH is not coding correct? I spoke with Alex regarding this and it seems as though there may be more risks involved with flashing vs coding (warranty) as parameters are changed and edited vs changing coding settings. Anyway off topic but relevant. I decided to not flash my transmission due to this.
I am starting to think that it is a flash packaged and sold as the oem gts/cs tune, and NOT oem coding. Last edited by Yachtmaster; 04-28-2018 at 10:06 AM.. |

I had the same concerns with warranty and what not, but I did it anyway and do not regret it. I hated the standard DCT software with a passion. It was so jerky.

I’ve flashed my early 2016 with the latest 2018 software and so far I have not recorded any jerkiness. It seems a lot less jerky to me compared to the old software. I do notice that they did change the torque map and it seems like the edc system works a tad better.

i think depending on which features you're referring to. The GTS engine maps are not coding, and neither is the suspension competition flash. The GTS map itself cannot be loaded/coded onto a normal f80/f82 as it is not the same engine and thus reads different parameters to the ECU if I understand correctly. The "GTS" engine coding is more of a engine flash labeled/repackaged as gts, but it is not the same map as is on the M4 GTS. same with the other dct/suspension flashes.
