Best time to buy snow tires?

Hey guys,

Just wondering when you have found it's the best time to buy snow tires for the M3/M4 with 19" stock wheels (255/35-19 and 275/35-19). I've seen some posts talking about stock running out during the winter and I imagine prices are higher as well. On the flip side I'm trying to get them before winter but when stock levels and prices might be most competitive. Looking around online now the prices seem to be $300+ each (a little more for the rears) with not many options. I see the Pirelli Winter Sottozero's and Blizzak LM-32's as the main options in these sizes. Thanks!

The best time to buy them is before you need them.

What winter tires are you running with that set up?

Didn't want to start a new thread but I just traded in my e92 m3 and I have the oem 18" 260m wheels at home with winters mounted; 235/40s up front and 255/40s in the rear.. do you think those tire sizes will be OK or are they too short?

I would keep an eye on rebates and promotions and buy it when you can get money back.

You mean 219M? I was told that the rims do not clear the blue brakes on the F8x.

The 260Ms are almost identical to the 219M save for a slight spoke redesign; they came on late 2013 cars.

260M on my old car:

Sam@ModeCarbon was running the 219Ms on his car for a while. I wonder if he can confirm if they fit. That is my main concern the inner barrel being to small to clear the standard blue brakes.

I've seen snow tires go on sale right after the season (if you have a way to store them). So that might be something to check out! Any of the Blizzaks are good, but I would pick the Pirelli's you mentioned first just as a personal preference.
