Won't Go Into Reverse!
My GTS on two occasions now won't go into reverse and the car won't throw a fault code and BMW says there is nothing wrong with the car despite having videos. The shifter is in reverse but the car is in neutral and the N blinks. Any thoughts or experiences? I know BMW is plagued with DCT problems and there are discontinuing them.

Brake lights both functioning? Longshot, but I had a honda that wouldn't let you shift into reverse when the brake light bulb failed. Used shift lock release for a day or two before I figured out what was going on.

Tail lights are working. I don't see any warning and I believe there are LED so they last a long time.

I'm gonna check the water tank when I see the car. No fault codes for the water injection system have popped up.

Lol, normal fault code. A FAULT code by its very definition cannot be normal.
Do you have any other dealers close by? Seems really strange that you have video and in person corroboration of the problem and they're still telling you move along, nothing to see here |

My only advice is to keep taking it in and then file a lemon law claim. CA has decent lemon laws that protect the buyer if the manufacturer cannot fix the problem.

I did hire an attorney but BMW hired their bull dog law firm which transferred it to federal court and had "expectations" and "lemon" removed from the lawsuit. They also had their in house employees be their expert witnesses and said all the fault codes and other problems were "normal." I had fault codes for the computers not syncing properly and my gas pedal angle as a fault code as well. ALL NORMAL LOL
Moral of the story is don't have any "expectations" when buying their product. They lost a life long customer and people should know how they treat their clients. |
