I'm going to school myself up pretty good, and learn all about it just like in the VAG-Com days. Pretty inexpensive cable, already have the software.

Where do you get this cable?

I can help with that. You would need to order the cable which is pretty cheap and have a windows laptop with internet access at your car.
Am stuck. Got as far as managing a connection and that was my exact thought! Need someone to remotely connect to my pc and do it! please help!!!

The guys that have gotten their cars coded. Are you still getting flashed by oncoming traffic? I got mine coded a week ago and have been testing it. I do see my LED headlights moving around and I thought it was supposed to angle/adapt so they go "around" the oncoming car but I keep getting flashed here and there. I realize that it won't be perfect 100% of the time.

I'm in the UK and have the LED adaptive lighting as standard. I drive all the time with adaptive lighting and I see the beams split as I approach cars in front of me and dip for oncoming traffic. I've never been flashed. I suspect the electronics isn't working right.

Some people act like the brights police, assuming that they won't be turned off in time before they are potentially affected. When I worked nights, I had to deal with it all the time.

I've noticed the same in my wife's car with the HBA.

Now that I think of it, I was getting flashed without the brights on as well. I imagine more of the same with the LEDs.

I got flashed recently 1 time. but I was in a crowded part of the freeway/highway. I think it does its best work when there are less cars.

I'm picking up my F80 in Munich in May, will the full adaptive features of the LEDs be on when I'm out in Europe, then coded out before I take delivery back in the states? Or it will it be US spec'd even when I'm driving around Europe?

You will have the USA spec mode on the lights.

I have access to an Autologic, can I do all of this with it?

I know it's pretty straightforward in use, I've played around with on some older BMWs...

Just got mine coded on over the weekend (SF Bay Area). It's a fun feature but not very useful in populated areas IMHO.

Anyway, I wanted to enjoy the tech before a future software update wipes out the ability to code.

Makes for good water cooler conversation though:

Me: "Got my car software hacked to allow the LED high-beams to use a camera to adaptively avoid blinding people."
Coworker: "WTF are you talking about!"
Me: "Never mind..."

I coded the lights and tried them out today. I'm not sure if it's working properly. How do the icons on the dash correspond to what's going on? I see the blue high beam icon stay on most of the time but occasionally it turns off? I'm confused. I did get flashed once too. Maybe I need to recode.

Hello Tom, got a question for you regarding the Adaptive lights coding.
My car is an euro version it came with "S552A Adaptive LED headlight" and "S5ACA High-beam assistant" options from factory, do I need any coding or am I go to go?

Thanks in advance!
