I had them installed at my local BMW dealer/shop. Total cost around 1300 incl. alignment and TUV approval (Germany). It's a one of the biggest ones in the area here. They managed to install the rear springs upside down - they kept the upper spring adapters in (the thick ones) and removed the lower rubber spring adapters. That resulted in a very high ride height - they claimed the springs would be too long!! Can you believe it.

Then they did the suspension alignment - steering wheel off center. Actually went from toe in on the front to toe out. Even though they did a test drive at the end no one noticed...sigh. So it's with them for day 4 today. Somehow the techs at the shops don't look at the ISTA instructions. I even printed the manual and gave it to them. I wonder why that is.

A big thanks to everyone posting pictures here of their installed springs - that helped me to find the fault fairly quickly.

This kit seems much more complete than the KW HAS kit I had on my S4, which was only a spring with the adjustable collar. Is the KW kit for the M3 really identical to this (spring rates aside)? Noticeable difference with my prior KWs is the rears have a rubber piece that sits between the spring and collar. The front has the helper spring, is the M3 stock that way too? The plastic piece on the rear spring, is that there to prevent noise when the spring compresses?

I don't see a set screw for the fronts. How does the height stay in place?

What is the large cylinder piece for? Something for installation I presume?

The parts outside the box were part of the recommended hardware kit that I got, as per BMW instructions when ordering this.

This gets installed Friday
Nice where are you getting it installed?

Hello All,

I just installed MP HAS on my F80 M3 ZCP. It was a lot of work, but very satisfying doing the work myself.

I forgot to take measurements of the stock ride height prior to doing the install. I'd like to have these for my record.

If you have a stock F80 ZCP ride height measurements , I'd greatly appreciate if you would share this info.

Thanks!

Had this installed several months ago and have loved every minute of it. I couldn't stand the 4x4 look from the factory. Slammed in the front and just about slammed in the back, spacers all around for that flush look, 15mm front and 12mm rear.

Anyone here running the 275/295 front/rear tire combo? Wondering what to expect with the current ride height. My rear tires need replaced soon, so I may just do all four and switch to the bigger sizes.

I'm looking to get my MP HAS kit installed soon. I rarely track, but do drive twisty back roads quite often. Is it worth getting the car corner balanced after the install if I rarely track it? Any concerns not corner balancing for spirited back road driving?

No, not worth it at all.

Anybody have a link to an install price thread for this kit? I just got quoted $1500 (plus $200 for alignment) for it, which sounds pretty high in general and in comparison to what others have paid here for install. Thanks in advance for some responses.

I had it installed for $2500. This included the MP HAS, kit, alignment & corner balancing at the dealership. So the MP HAS was $1290, kit $65, alignment $109. The labor plus tax was $1135.

I'm interested in understanding more. I would assume that corner balancing would be of benefit regardless of street or track as the car would behave more neutral. Is that not the case, or are the benefits just not felt on the street?

That is really cheap.

I just got quoted from another dealer in town $715 in labor and $238 for corner balance and alignment. This includes 15% off of labor for being a BMWCCA member. Very happy with this and I'll go through them.

Do they know they have to remove and install new spring seats on the front struts? I think some places don't know this and end up charging more.

Yes, they specifically called that out as to why the price was higher than normal.

I asked for all of the original parts back after the MP HAS installation. They packed them up nicely in the MP HAS box and put them in my trunk!

Yeah, that's much more in the ballpark. I think I ended up paying somewhere in the ~$600-700 neighborhood plus alignment. IIRC, it was about 5 hours or so of labor.

That's nuts. I paid $625CAD ($465USD) for 5 hours of install and $150CAD ($112USD) for alignment at my dealer before taxes. My dealer also included the installation of the GC camber plate in the deal.

All in all, my installed MP-HAS kit cost me $2,992CAD ($2,233USD) including 15% taxes. Not cheap, but definitely worth it to me.

It got worse, they wanted roughly $6500 total to do the MP HAS kit, Dinans front tension ball joint set and their rear link kit. They said they were strictly going by book time and weren't giving any overlap discounts etc for doing it all at once.

The BMW dealer I'm going through is a Dinan dealer as well so I'm getting all of the above plus alignment/corner balancing and the sway bar kit for just over $6200 out the door. A little bit better I think.
