CG VSCII valve controller or Bimmerlink app vs OBD adaptor

Hi,

What are your opinions on valve controllers.
Definitely want one but which option is best - CG VSCII valve controller or Bimmerlink app & OBD adaptor.

Any issues with using the app. Do you need to keep the adaptor plugged into the OBD port at all times?

Comments & advice appreciated.

As a general answer, I like and use mine.

I have valve control through the Awron and find it very useful. That allows full control in all modes (to 4k revs I think) and that gives me the quiet exhaust for around town whilst keeping the responsive Sport or Sport+ throttle.

Please pardon my ignorance. What is the Awron?

Macht Schnell EVC module. Retains the OBD2 port and offers most features.

Got the bimmerlink app here. Very easy to use and amongst other things, you can control the exhaust flaps (Open/Closed/Auto) and you can also turn off the active sound, which is the main reason I bought it.

And no you don't need to leave the obd adaptor dongle in.

Get one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(Cheaper than ebay )

It's one of these. You toggle through 'close', 'open' and 'auto' using the steering wheel button on the left when not used for cruise control or speed limit.

Yes. I hadn't noticed that before but trying it on the way home and it's very noticeable. The water temperature started dropping immediately and quickly. The oil temperature more slowly but still happened.

CG VSC11 Remote Switch

Hi All, Whilst I have followed this forum for a little while, this is my first post, so please be gentle with me.

I'm fed up using the CG exhaust remote and would like a more integrated switch. It's worth noting my car doesn't have the homelink button. Has anyone utilised the spare fog-light switch or the start stop switch as an example.

Car:-
Alpine White M4 DCT
7 speed DCT
M Carbon Ceramic Brakes
19" Black 437M alloy wheels
Reversing Camera
Carbon Fibre interior trim
Surround View
M-heads up display
Harman Kardon
Internet
Speed limit display

Extras:-
BMS stage 2 remap 520bhp
BMW M Performance titanium exhaust
BMW M Performance side blades
BMW M Performance black side gils
BMW M Performance black front grills
BMW M Performance Carbon shifter surround
BMW comp pack black M4 badge
Alcantara steering wheel
Status Gruppe carbon rear diffuser
Status Gruppe carbon rear lip spoiler
Lightweight GMBH front splitter
H&R Super Sport springs
Eibach pro spacers
ITG panel air filters
CG Precision remote exhaust valve controller

All help appreciated.

I only have experience with two devices; Macht Schnell EVC module and CG Precision VSC-2 EVC, and I'm actually using both devices - Macht Schnell EVC module for CEL suppression and CG Precision VSC-2 EVC to control my valves.

Macht Schnell EVC module: I like how it has multiple features; CEL suppression, 100% halo brightness, Active Sound disable/enable, etc. While it's cool that it's integrated into the BC stalk, I find it annoying that every time the button is pressed it toggles through the display (time, date, miles, etc). I also dislike how it has 3 options of OPEN/OEM/CLOSE. I just want to open/close the valves.

CG Precision VSC-2 EVC: I like how it only toggles on/off. I hate remotes, so it's a good thing it connects to our Homelink but it does take up two Homelink buttons; one for OPEN and one for CLOSE.

Install is very easy on both. I also left a USB cable plugged into the Macht Shnell device with the USB cable tucked into the little compartment for ease of switching settings, which is rare. Lol.

It's actually easier than connecting to a garage door opener. You just hold down the button on the CG remote, then hold down the Homelink button. It grabs the code within seconds. Repeat for the other CG button on another Homelink button.

bump... does anyone know if the CG VSCII can be reprogrammed? It has the option to store 2 functions (choosing between open/close/auto). Would like to reprogram a second hand CG VSCII to my liking.
