What to look out for in a used M4?
Hi all!
I am looking to purchase 2015-2016 M4 DCT. I was wondering if there's anything specific that I could look out for in terms of mechanical issues. So far I was able to find reports of crank hub issues, oil leaks, and valve cover gasket issues. Will be getting a PPI regardless but still would like to hear some feedback. Thanks! |

Me personally i would check for these things aside from the normal frame damage/accident stuff....
Charge air cooler expansion tank leak/issue Check if the downpipes/turbo bolts has been touched indicating the car has been modified before Check if the car's software has ever been tampered with. I would NOT want to buy a car that's been tuned. Rear diff bushing if theirs any cracks/play

Really, this car has been mechanically solid. The only rare complaints about the M3/M4 is the spun hub crank failure and the charge pipes can break easily (especially if running high boost pressures). So dont worry too much about the mechanical faults of the car.

Also, is around 45k a good price for a 2015-2016 M4 with 30k miles or so? Thanks! |

A bit off topic, but I ran some insurance quotes and I am being quoted between $350-400 per month for full coverage on Geico. I am 24 yr old, who had speeding tickets in 2013 and 2014.
Any clues on how I could get a cheaper rate? |

I've found a potential car at BMW Dallas. But the Carfax says 6 owners, with some having the car just for 2-3 months.

Once the tickets come off every 3 years if your have points.. Plus your age bracket does not help, young males known as high risk drivers. You will have to pay this high cost or get a lower deductible insurance.
