Pricing Opinion: 2016 M3 ZCP at BMW Dealership in Houston

2016 M3 ZCP

MDecoder Info

Sorry in advance if these threads are annoying, y'all just know more about this market than I do so I'd like some more informed opinions than my own.

Currently looking for an F80 ZCP and this one popped up at a dealer close to my work. It's a Pennsylvania lease car that this dealer bought at auction and shipped down. Looks like it has some stuff done to it (splitter/diffuser/spoiler/exhaust)....anyone's former car here?

Looks clean, low miles, pretty loaded with options, but that asking price seems way too high to me for a 2016 that isn't CPO. I'll probably go look at it this weekend just out of curiosity, but for the people here that know these cars better than I do, what would you be happy walking away with price-wise?

Well, it only has 13k miles and has Comp Package and Full Leather. By all means negotiate, it’s not that bad of a price though because of the really low mileage. If it had 29k then, different story. $2k-$3k off and you are golden.

Ok, that's more or less what I was thinking. I stopped by after work yesterday and they wouldn't budge. I said if they did $54k I'll sign the paperwork right then, or if they won't budge from the price then make it CPO. Sales guy said "our used car prices aren't negotiable".....I laughed, thanked him, and left.

If it's still there in a few weeks I'll probably give them a call and see if they're willing to "negotiate"

I tried buying a car from Sonic a few months ago. The sales guy gave me the same ‘non-negotiable’ BS. I walked away. They kept emailing me with updates on the car every week. The car was still on their lot 3 months later and they had lowered the price every week until it was near what I offered. Too bad for them as I had already found a better car with another dealer.

For that kind of money you can get a 2018 ZCP w/ Executive if you're willing to get one from out state. A lot on the East Coast.

That's what I was telling the sales guy, that their price is the same as 17/18 ZCP's with similar builds. He wasn't having it though.

I'm not opposed to out of state though, thanks for the heads up!

No problem, I've been shopping for a while.. I too am trying to find something reasonable on the West Coast.

But it looks like it might have to be an out of state deal for me. The deals are just way better... Only worry of mine is that the car has seen snow and who knows how much salt if any, is underneath these east coast cars.

Tell the guy they bought it for 50,500 at auction and that 54k is a fair deal for everyone and they can make a quick 3k with no carrying costs.

Probably not far off on the auction cost. He said it was an employee lease return that the dealership in PA put at auction.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone picked it up relatively quickly even at that price, but if it's there in a few weeks I'll definitely go back and see.

most dealers follow the same business plan reference used cars
they list it at a price then gradually lower the price every week or two till it sells
yes they can get killed on some cars that they should have sold quicker, but in general most if not all dealers follow this plan , because it works for that business
successful business. is judged by the balance of successful transaction/ unsuccessful transactions
so tell the SA , to call you when it reach the price you are willing to pay
unless he/she is lazy , will keep an eye on it , so he/she get their commission , and you don't have to keep checking their website
meanwhile keep hunting other places

FYI, my car has the same options (except 6MT) and about the same miles. My trade in offers were $45-46K.

Glad I leased it. Lol

Holy hell, what year is yours? ZCP? That seems way too low given what these are being sold for still.

I see base model 15/16 F80s for that price quite frequently but the ZCP's still hold a little better value.

'16, 6MT, ZCP, Exec, full leather, LEDs, Bluetooth, Sakhir/Black, 15k miles

Happy to sell it to you in the low 50s. Otherwise it goes back on the 26th.

I can't believe they were low-balling you that bad, that's insane.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm trying to find either white or silver for now. Thank you though!
