Leftover oil
Hi all,
This might be a dumb question, but this hasn't happened to me before. I usually get quart sized bottles for oil changes, but this time I got 5 quart jugs of Castrol Edge 0W-40. Typically I'd have a half quart or less leftover. I wouldn't care much for it so I just tossed it with the rest of my used oil. But with these huge jugs, I have over 3 quarts left. Seems like a waste to get rid of it. Is there any harm in just storing it then using it for my next oil change? Not sure if condensation or any other issues with long term storage can occur once the cap and seal are broken. Thanks for any advice. humpday. |

Absolutely agree with other replies.
Although oil is hydroscopic (absorbs moisture), engine temps means this is evaporated quickly once up to temperature...... :-) |
