I m interested by the ID4 to ID6 upgrade for my 16 M4.’’. I have ordered a wifi antenna but not yet received and I would like to know if I need to have it installed before the upgrade or if I can install it after?

Hello everybody,
Here is my feedback after few weeks… it works great!
I had one bug at the beginning as my hdd was full but after cleaning, it starts to work perfectly…

Android Auto is not possible in iDrive 7. Only Screen Mirroring + VIM.

I just wanted to vouch for kubax86 . He was easy to contact over Whatsapp and readily available to do the flash. I live in an apartment building, and there was no way for me to get wifi to my laptop, so I just tethered to my phone and everything went smoothly. He kept me updated through the flash process and let me know when he needed me to physically do something, such as place a USB drive in the port

I got an OEM wifi antenna from my dealer parts dept and easily installed it after watching a youtube video.

iDrive 6 and Carplay are very snappy. It genuinely feels OEM. Carplay boots automatically 99% of the time. Only very seldom do I have to reboot the iDrive because Carplay didn't start up. Siri is well integrated in to the car and all of the Carplay apps for navigation and audio work flawlessly with the BMW iDrive system. This has been my favorite and most widely used "mod"
