Most user-friendly ceramic coating?
I have basic detailing experience but never applied a ceramic coating. Which is the most "user-friendly" coating to pick?

Feynlab Lite, really easy to apply, will give you at least 18-24 months protection.

Any consumer grade coating is easy to apply. Once you get started you will see how easy it is, as long as you don't rush. There's a lot of undue anxiety about applying coatings because of the steps required to fix a mistake, but it's really hard to screw it up. The hard part is the prep.

between Cquartz UK3.0 that i have on my M3 and Optimum Optigloss i've had on my previous cars the Optigloss was by far the easiest coating to apply. its like wiping WD40 on the paint and watch it disappear on its own with little to no buffing.
With all coatings you just have to pay attention to having too much product on one area where it will create a high spot and doesn't "flash" away on its own. Not the end of the world since you can just hit the area with some paint polish to remove the coating if that happens. Its easier to apply on lighter color cars since you don't notice mistakes as much as lets say a jet black car. Alan

Not levelling it off as prescribed by the manufacturer, so making sure it’s buffed off properly.
Use plenty of towels and I always throw the initial buffing ones away. If the curing process isn’t observed you may need to machine the coating off which is just a PITA. As mentioned, don’t rush it and it’s really straight forward.

I've done 3 cars using CarPro CQuartz UK and was hesitant at first, but as others have suggested, as long as you take the time, it's a really straight forward work. The chance of screwing up is pretty low.
Again, can't stress this enough... allocate an entire weekend, put kids and wifey on a weekend vacation so they won't distract you. Prep well and take your time following the steps and voila... you're done and car looks amazing. |

chances of screwing it up is high, do be naive. But, its not the end of the world. We have seen pro shops screw things up royally and require extensive correction to remove it.

If those pro level shops are actually using pro level coatings, yes those are always going to require extensive correction to fix any mistakes. Consumer level coatings can easily be removed with polishing.
