Rear light help - someone must have tried?
So I have just purchased a spare set of rear lights and am about to embark on the mission to remove the lenses and black them out - if they can be opened.
So has anyone tried to do this already? From looking at them they appear to be bonded together with a very strong glue which i guess needs scraping out to pull them apart? or is there any tips? Hope somebody can help before I break a set of lights Thanks |

OP, please do not "rice out" your classy car with internal lens painting or ridiculous external laminate overlays. Do it right instead: Have a good body shop uniformly scuff the factory clear and spray it with a few light coats of custom-tinted clear until the lights look darker but nor dark. I got it done that way while I had my lights out for a bumper replacement.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being OEM and 10 being pitch black, I went to about a 4. It keeps a classy car looking as such while still differentiating it from OEM. It is not cheap, but doing something right rarely is. I believe above is the method Mike@IND might be referring to as well. Nice M5 guys!
