We have very different versions of bad apparently.

and I was responding to the post where the guy said you would be fine and people do it all the time (which I didn't even want to get into). Anyway, to me, $4,500 is bad. Really bad

4500 ain't shit compared to the cost of a new motor.

I’ve spent $3500 on rebuilding an S52 head after bending valves, so OP did very well IMO.

This ^ 3 second clutch out on a money shift, your practically walking away with a VERY lucky inexpensive mistake. (inexpensive when you think about the 30,000$ for a new block, which a 3 second clutch out money shift could EASILY be responsible for.
