single turbo

Looking to buy a single turbo kit for my f80 but wanted to know can I get an inspection in ny with this doc race kit on. They don’t pop the hood they just hook up to an ob2 and check monitors

I've never had anyone pop the hood. As long as 1 of 3 between the two O2 and the cats pass you will pass. None of mine pass but I know a guy.

nysvip3 is coming out soon, you wont be able to circumvent obd testing unless you have a tuner who is willing to set monitors for you.

Following this. Planning to go single as well but not sure how to handle emission here in MD. We have self service OBD testing.

iam sure if you use an N55 cat you can get it to pass. as long as the O2 sensors are turned on and is seeing what they need to see then you shouldn't have an issue.

depending on the kit you go with you may have to custom make a downpipe to use an N55 cat. And have your tuner turn on the o2 sensors.
