Oh, had another - wasn't a neighbor, instead I was driving the streets of Washington DC one evening. At a stop light a guy and his friend in a car next to me shout over

"Hey! What did that thing cost?!" I replied - a fair amount

His next comment was "I bet that thing cost more than my whole net worth!"

I just don't get it. Spending money on a car to people on this forum is not the same to other people in this world. We just buy really expensive toys that can also function as a daily driver.

Yep, I'm 25 and own my house in my neighborhood. I'm constantly outside doing work on it, etc etc. My older neighbors are extremely confused by me

I am 26 as well, and after the cost question I typically get the old "So what do you do for a living?"

Depending on the mood I either tell them I sell crack or just ignore them.
