Keep your car and CP is good but not worth the trade in , i did the same only because my 16 was rear ended and i was getting a good deal on the dealer stocked CP car. I do miss my 16 in terms of low end torque and that car was built exactly to my taste. The 18 CP is a great car and looks great but i wanted MG with SO interior and could not get it because it was bought off the lot.
15K miles is still new and you can mod it to make it better than the CP car

Why would you trade a complete car for a steel "shafted" '18?

I would just wait until next gen M3's come out. I think you're depreciation hit would be steep. Even if you go like a CS there is not much a difference that you're jumping to and it's not in a manual. Good luck.

I was considering switching to an M2C or Cayman GTS. I ended up putting the full CS suspension on my car, which made a big enough improvement in ride and handling that I enjoy driving the car once again and will probably keep it for a couple more years. So depending on what you're looking for from the '18 ZCP, that could be an option.
Re: the G80, I also have a 2018 S4. It's about 3" longer than my M3, and the G80 will be a hair longerthan that. While the F8X isn't small, I think it's at the upper limit of what an agile sports sedan can be before it starts to be not so track worthy. The S4 looks and feels like a much bigger car, Almost M5-ish. So again, depending on what you're looking for, I'm sure the G80 will be a great road car, but I think we'll start seeing fewer and fewer of them at the track as that job gets handed down to M2's.

I would wait for new generation.
Each generation is so much better and if you can wait I would. I personally could never wait and end up trading cars every 6 months... I am a total car freak. lol

Will add that aftermarket full coillvers are likely an easier to source option that full CS suspension I also don't think CS allows for front camber adjustment either but I could be mistaken. |

I did. Don't. Enjoy your car and wait for next gen. The Comp is more composed. (best way to describe it as others have stated) and handles much better, very sharp. Only BMW can create a sharp car that has absolutely no steering feedback/feeling. People constantly complained about the GTR feeling like a playstation, no it didn't/ THIS FEELS LIKE A PLAYSTATION!!! BMW DO YOU HEAR THAT!!!!!!!. The seats are nicer. Power feels the same. Keep in mind that it is harsher ride. Exhaust is too loud for me when driving. I used to always put my std M4 into M mode but the droning with the new comp pack sport exhaust gets annoying.

The M3/4 is also much more than 0-60 times. Any modern performance car can mash the throttle and accelerate quickly from a light. |

I have an E46 M3 coupe (very nice example) in my garage next to my F80Z6MT and the F80's steering is easily as good as the 46M's..... and that's saying something as the 46M has some of the best steering feel ever put into a road car. Sure, the actual road "feel" is somewhat muted in the F80Z, but.... and this is a huge but.... it's far more precise and direct and has a MUCH better on-center feel. So what you give up in feel (not that much) you gain so much more in all of the other categories that I rate them as equal. Remember that good steering is more than just feedback. It's feedback + weight + directness + ratio (too fast = shitty). I can literally fling my F80 down a canyon run as hard as I want and feel exactly what the front end is doing. There is less feedback than other cars but there is enough to be effective.... and that's all that matters. Nothing is one-dimensional and I encourage you to consider this. |
