Please see Post 113. Other items have been added to the build during crank hub install. We will post some pictures and update when finished.

Sounds like a great deal. I think everyone is a little wary since we still have no updates on the install status. We also don't have a confirmed install time/cost. 409 is realllll tempting though. However, if it ends up being a bust that's 409 dollars for nothing since it's a BF/CM deal-no refunds or exchanges.

I guess the only update we can get is when there's a failure. If it doesn't break there isn't any real update, car either drives normal or it doesn't.

So this hasn’t been tested by anyone but Vargas yet, correct?

Did they release any actually findings from testing this product?

Seems like a good idea but can’t risk this failing and costing me 5-10k..

The risk of it happening with no aftermarket solution is low - seems that this would only decrease those already small odds. However, there isn't a good way to test this in the real world. The only thing you can do is rely on the engineering and the reputation of the company.

Seems like a great idea and I would like to think this company is making good products these days as they don’t have the greatest reputation. Guess it’s cheap enough to buy today and wait for results.

The risk level is somewhere between medium to high for high boost/high HP (600+whp) cars.

This kit isn't needed for stock power level or even most Stage 2 FBO configurations.

For an estimated 6-8 hour install, this sure is not proceeding according to timelines posted, which is worrisome.

First install with this particular brand, taking pictures and installing additional parts takes time. We're wrapping up shortly.

You guys don't owe anyone jack shit in this thread, so I wouldn't sweat any pesky quote responses hassling you for a product installation update. Most especially for a critical component and relatively new aftermarket part that requires time and patience for proper installation...

You know anyone seriously interested would:

1. Call your business to discuss matters, and possibly arrange a time to drop off their car

2. Actually be local to your shop

I haven't always agreed with some of the things you guys promote on the forums, but I did take my car to your shop for the initial JB4/CPs/DPs installation. After taking the same items apart a few times on my own, I know whichever tech performed the installation on my car was a pro's pro with extremely high attention to detail.

That being said, I wouldn't hold anything against you should you decide to refrain from sharing any further information on VTT's crank hub solution.

The difference being they already offered info on install that by their quotes were in progress prior to my first post.

And they also set the install dates, both long since have passed.

If this takes 8 days instead of 8 hours, that seriously affects labor.

And what makes you think any local mechanic will not have the same if not more complications as clearly they have not done it either.

I'm not denying that, but how much is anyone paying EAS to meet their soft deadlines?

Considering that you've done several salvage car restoration on many different BMW chassis, you out of all people should understand what it's like to move projects around based on priority and available resources.

EAS is a tuning shop business that needs to prioritize paying customers first; shop projects should always come second. Anyone curious about the installation should be grateful that any tuning shop is even considering taking on this project in order to better educate the rest of the community.

Update on your edit: Don't think for one second that a local shop in Sacramento will be able to match not only EAS or VTT's time and pricing on labor, but also the experience they offer with having done the installation at least once. I'd recommend reaching out directly to VTT instead. Their shop is based in Hayward, which is not that far from you compared to Anaheim.

You would need to ask owner who has also posted that. As EAS seems to be doing ALOT to owners car given what has been posted, this isn’t a “shop project”

I don’t move things around and change deadlines (primarily as I do it for fun).

Again, given previous quotes, it’s pretty obvious that owner is spending ALOT on his car with EAS. This is clearly not a freebie Shop Project.

If anyone actually believed a word out of VTT’s mouth, that would make sense. But that’s why everyone wants to know from a respected party like EAS.

While EAS might miss deadlines by weeks, it’s not years like VTT.
