Resonator delete with stock exhaust on F80/F82?

Hey guys! Just got my 2015 m4 a few weeks ago and I want a little bit more sound out of It without costing too much. Has anyone done a resonator delete on a stock exhaust? By resonator delete I mean straight pipes welded in place of the resonator. Any feedback or advice would help a lot! Thanks.

If you search around for secondary decat and xpipe threads there are people who have painstakingly trialled every custom exhaust option. General opinion/result of what seemed best was to replace resonator with a Magnaflow or similar xpipe and cut secondary cats out and replace with race mufflers. Parts are cheap and the work is only a few hours.

Obviously it's not very reversible but you could pick up a cheap used OE muffler to reverse it.

Bigsean714 resonator delete is a cheap mod and many have done it.

In my case I rather not touch the factory exhaust so I am getting CTS Turbo Catless Downpipes through bm3nyc

Better option is to leave the factory resonator. Change the 2nd Cats for resonators. Removing stock resonator will increase drone while on highway.

Not really

AA midpipe, which is essentially a pipe, removes stock resonators and secondsry cats and when paired with a stock muffler prodices zero drone

No. It's two 14156 resonators. I don't think anybody makes a single dual in and dual out that will fit.

AA midpipe is a $1000 pipe.

Two Magnaflow 14156 plus install cost me $325.00. 700$ less than the AA midpipe.

I have not compared the two in person. But I doubt that a resonated pipe has less drone that OEM pipe that replaced in two resonators. Could be, IDK. Surely not 700$ difference.

Haven't gone to this yet on my m4 but probably will.. but I've done it previously on v10 m6 .. wasn't happy with the volume of my ride with dinan free flow mufflers so i went I straight piped the ride from mid to back gradually but the resonator made the biggest difference in sound .. try out resonater delete if still not happy go for catalyst delete later and unplug thr valve wiring when valve fully open

I have catless downpipes and had noticed a rattle in my secondary cats so I removed them and replaced with 2 resonators. These resonators helped deepen the sound further and removed basically all rasp/farts for very cheap. SOunds great, but the only complaint now is the increased smell since I am full catless.
Straight piping the factory resonators or factory secondary cats will increase rasp for sure, so I am not sure that's the best option for you if you want both a louder and cleaner sound.

Hard to tell about the exhaust tone on Dyno, especially with all those extra burbles
