I am surprised to see quite a few moon roofs (13%) - I am guessing that all of them are on M3s.

Sunroof is the solid metal hatch. It lets the sun and air in only when open.

Moonroof is the glass hatch, and it lets light in even when its closed.

1. Painted roof, no moonroof.
2. CF roof.
3. Moonroof

In that order :-)

Just a tad different but personal taste:

CF > moonroof > painted..

I think this pole has changed my thoughts on the roof. I love having a sunroof but I think that the CF roof looks amazing and will be much better for resale value. Do you all concur?

I think I have had a Moonroof on every car I've ever had except my first car (1993 Accord) and my Nissan GTR,....oh wait, my boxster didn't have a moonroof (lol) but I definitely will skip it for this car.

I'm not crazy about being trendy, but this CF roof looks great/sexy and it is part of the appeal of the car. I was wondering why the last 4 door M3 didn't get it.

I think unpainted CF looks odd and I wouldn't want it on my car. I like the weight saving / rigidity of it though.

Say no to moonroof! I don't understand how anybody can pass up on the FREE awesome Carbon Fiber roof, driving an M3 with a moonroof is like eating macaroni without cheese

Hahahaha.....

I always thought I'd be 100% CF. I'm a Cali guy and have been using the moonroof more lately....Ahhh gonna be a tough choice. Love the cf look. But it's nice to crack the roof every now and then.

I have a CF roof now and love it. Sooooo many compliments on it, but I have an AW M3. It is very noticeable. Not so much if you go with black or dark grey. I love it with the SO exterior so that's what I'm going with

CF roof on a car such as ///M3/4 is a MUST. I don't get why anybody would want just a painted roof. Moonroof I can maybe understand but a painted roof. WTF?

I switched from moonroof to CF because my sales advisor said with my Alpine White color and CF it will have a higher resale. Now I guess I'm going to "need" the CF diffuser as well. Maybe the front lip also.

I'm going to miss my moonroof, alot, but I gotta go for the CF bling. Especially since I'm going with a lighter color.

My exact thoughts. If I was going with black or even mineral grey, I would've kept the moonroof. But not having CF on an alpine white car is a travesty, especially when it's free.
