Would LOVE HUD integrated radar detection!

Wishful thinking, perhaps, but it would be magical to be able to integrate a Passport or V1 detector into our HUD! My searching shows that this is available for C6 Vettes, maybe a Toyota, but I've not seen anything commercial for us.

There's a DIY thing at Phil's Projects, but it's not what's needed and reportedly only works at night! Cool points for trying.

Maybe if we all say we want it someone will build it!

Get the passport built into your rear view. (Escort 9500)

I had mine installed a few weeks ago and it works super slick. Have the control module hidden in the cigarette lighter area.

Pretty sure radar detectors are illegal in many places, so the chances of BMW officially supporting such a contraption are officially zero.

yeah, next best thing is radar-mirror.com. Have my V1 built into my rear view mirror. Awesome.

2 questions:

1 - if OP is correct, other car cos do this without hesitation. So is that really an issue?

2 - did you really use the word contraption? I mean, I know you are from Texas and all but.........

Illegal in two states effectively means illegal in all 50. And their illegal in many European countries as well.

Which cars have this built in from the factory?

None from the factory, it's some aftermarket product, but it plugs right into the Vette's control bus or some supported system link. I'm sure Googling C6 radar detector HUD or similar will find it quickly enough.

I'm not asking for BWM to create this. At all. Just like they don't create the piggy back units! I'm looking for any vendor to step up and sort it out and take my cash for a properly integrated solution.
