So THAT's what you took from the context of my statement to him!?!??! Ummm, okay. It's not worth any further explanation if you think my self-righteous jab at him had anything to do with options.

If you wanted camera/PDC in the first place, you will most likely have buyer's remorse soon after you buy the car, once the initial excitement is over. You will also soon forget that you got a great deal in the first place.
I lost thousands of dollars on a car that I bought at a great deal by trading it in within a year to get the options I really wanted in the first place.

IMO no PDC/RVC isn't a deal breaker, as Bimmertech offers a RVC that integrates nicely with iDrive. In many ways I think it's superior to the OEM one as it allows you to add a front view cam, plus you don't get PDC which I've always found the beeping to be annoying (not to mention the little holes in the bumpers). The whole setup can be retrofitted for ~$1-1.2k which isn't bad

I've decided to make a last ditch lease offer, extremely aggressive to the point where there would be no buyer's remorse when saving a few hundred dollars a month. If it's accepted I will take the car, if not I will simply order a 2017. I agree with most here that taking a car with missing options at market value can be a source of regret later, however getting a smoking deal on a new 2016 because it's end of year and dealer needs to move said vehicle quickly makes you forget that you don't have backup cam and sensors. I also have adaptive M on my current car but the first thing I do is put it on Sport + as I dislike comfort modes so that is a moot point. I will know by end of day today if I am getting it.

After having the PDC/RVC, I could personally live without them. Do I love having them? Sure, but by no means a deal breaker.
Bimmer Tech makes a retrofit for both though. Pricey but it's a seamless intigreation. I'm thinking of getting the front camera so I can stop worrying about destroying my lip. The PDC sucks for low curbs and I have to rely on looking at my reflection in the car next to me to see how close I am or just park really far back. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw...sist-retrofits

Yes I would not pass up a car because of cameras I don't need. I do not see why a car needs a backup camera or parking help. If you know how to drive what is the problem without them?
