What to do for more power?

So I'm a new owner of my F80 M3 and God I love it! But I would like to get a little more out of the engine then what it currently has. I can go JB4 or do a Flash tune. But many people tell me to do a Dyno tune for the vehicle. Like I said I'm still a noob with this and would like to know the differences and what is better from my fellow F80 M3 owners. Also to add to this any recommendations on what downpipes to buy?

What did you drive before that makes you feel the need for more power?

I did ESS tune with DP's recently and it really changed the car and I am happy with the results. However I had been driving the F8X for 21 months before doing performance upgrades, I never felt like it needed more power and that's coming from a very long list of various other sports cars. What settings are you driving in and how long have you had the car?

2016 BMW M4  [0.00]
If you're not going to do DPs look into BMS stage1 from Burger Tuning.
Very popular on the this forum for good reason.
Great gains, reliable, simple install at a reasonable price.

I bought mine before taking delivery of the car, I'm waiting till my 1200 service to install it.
After driving my M4 for a while now I don't feel that the cars needs any more power, but since I have the stage 1 I might as well try it out.

Hey was thinking on doing ESS tune over JB4 for sure but a few people where saying to do dyno tune so just really wanted to know which one would be better for the car, both performance and daily driving. Well coming from a V8 thats pushing 507 to the crank would like to get close to that. All settings are in sport and transmission is Sport+

Yeah I'm most likely going to do DPs on my car so leaning towards ESS tune with DPs

JB4 > * but downpipes don't seem to be worth it on stock turbos. 10HP and not much else.

I'm not a fan of burger stage 1 myself. I would prefer jb4 in stage 2 running map1 so it can see all the info from the OBD connection. JB4 Map1 should put you close to the 508hp at the crank number if not more.

Because you mention that you are new to this, please make sure that you are comfortable with losing your factory powertrain warranty by modifying your engine for more power.

I have a W211 E63 for a daily beater. A completely stock M3 is a quicker car. It may have less horsepower but it also weighs ~800 lbs less.
