They are! We had the ZE40s re-finished with a PVD coating for this unique look.
I'm just kind of wondering if the wheel gaps just look bigger in the pictures than they do in real life? I just feel like you really need an aggressive drop to pull it off, and I won't want to go too crazy since it'll be a DD

Looking at the same spec rims, what tires are you running?

Ideally, I want to go 275/40 and 295/40.

Can't find summer tires with those specs.

There are more options with 35 profiles, which if I go that route, might as well go 19's.

Best 18inch set up I have ever seen on a F80 right here.

Some good rubber on the ground. Car drives like a dream. Extremely stiff suspension, but more rubber means more comfort. Best of both worlds

This kind of illustrates my point perfectly. The setup does look amazing, and pretty much what I'd love to go for. BUT, that car is really low, and I just don't think it would make sense for a DD. That lip is barely off the ground.

Compromise is such a pain

Yeah, but in this case the tires are tucking under if you look closely, you could raise up about an inch or so with the same rake and it will look real good. It is hard to get the exact look since it is a compromise like you said.

That F80 was a great time to drive! Definitely a bit low, but the feel and feedback were fantastic.

Both your YMB F8xs were incredible! I love how 18s look on this platform. A stripper YMB M4 with nice beefy 18s is strong on my list for next vehicles.

Yea, I have the Eibachs so I'm barely lowered and my wheel gaps with my winter wheels is kinda large. I'm running 255/40 on 18x10s square so the tires are kinda stretched so they appear smaller than they are. However, any lower (low enough to close the wheel gaps) and I'd be scraping too much for a daily driver.

YMB M4s look so choice on 18s but being that low is tough.

Beautiful!!

I hear ya on the Eibachs. I definitely don't want to go too low either, since it'll be a DD.

I can not get enough of looking at this car. It was my background for almost a year before I got my car. It was also the reason I chose YMB over white. So tasty.

Yes, there is a thread about this car with more pictures. It looks real good and I'm sure in person it looked even better.

Test fitted my stock 18 right front today. Doesn't look bad but the car is lower now then when I was on the H&Rs. Second and third pictures are my current height.

Thanks for sharing. What suspension are you running now again? I think the 18s look pretty good. Maybe some 275/35/18 would fill out the wheel house a little bit more.

I wouldn't want to go lower than that though I don't think.

I'm running the kw v3s, I had the passive suspension incase i had not mentioned it. If I had the adaptive I may have gone with a HAS kit. But the KWs are dialed in real good, no complaints at all. I would not go any lower than I have it now, I clear all drive ways that I enter but always angle the car out plus around here the roads are real bad and no issues. The only issue I had was the wife took the car out and planted the front end into a parking block but no damage to the lip at all.

Yes. It would actually do good for the handling (shorter stiffer sidewalls) but bear in mind that overall wheel diameter would be significantly lower, so the ride height would be lower and the wheel gap larger (whichever bothers you more).
Having said that: I ride on 285/30-18 square on the track. There is a post with a pic a little earlier in this thread.

Do you have any more pics

I'm actually lowered so the wheel gap should be fine
