Ride height lowered 10 mm compared to standard
Stiffer anti-roll bars (front and rear)
Extended front spoiler lip
Increased maximum rear spoiler height
and
Electronically variable active damping system with two manually selectable modes: "Normal" and "Sport"
WHICH IS INCLUDED ON ALL 911s!

So - to be as clear as mud.. the Sport Package is a lower ride height, stiffer anti-roll bars, Extended front spoiler lip, and increased maxium rear spoiler - but has nothing to do with PASM...

and if you want the Sport package, you might also want the FAL (Front Axle Lift) so you save the front spoiler
There is PASM which is Standard.
Then there is PASM Sport - this is an Individual option separate from any package. It further lowers the car by 10mm. This is essential to get perfect stance from factory. At a $1,000 bucks - its a bargain as Porsche options go.

I have this option on my 911 along with FAL.

BMW intends for the M3 to move up market into the 911 zone ... they failed before they ever got to the door.

agree sad times … 100% it's a design failure in my mind

I would like to see them have cojones to put that design on x3 and x5. x3 lci looks almost the same as the current model with smaller grills. Why not put big grilles on suvs?

As for the back-on-topic comment...does the 992 sport package just add the exhaust and the PASM, or the exhaust and the SPASM? I thought the S had standard PASM? PASM sport = SPASM, right?

It has standard PASM, BUT you can add the sport PASM for $1095. It lowers the car 10mm more than the standard PASM does (...as mentioned previously). I have no interest in the Sport exhaust. I prefer the look of the quad tail pipes.

Yea it's interesting, I actually like the look of the rectangular tips/tip surround on the base car...think it flows well with the design language.

You guys are terrible. I need to ask.. anyone have an M3CS and/or an M2CS? which would you replace for a '20, early build GT4? Gentian with yellow stitch/alcantara and yellow belts. Has about every option but ceramics and buckets if I recall correctly. I 'need' back seats, but there will be zero markup on this vehicle. Forgot to mention, 3 pedals!

Buckets on the P-Car mean no heat, so I couldn't do it, even if I had a CS variant. I actually didn't spring for the Blue/Gold/Red CS I could have had at sticker because the wheel didn't have a heat option.

It really depends.

I would keep the M2CS w/ a GT4 because I'm stupid.

However, I have a Macan GTS and a silly Prius Prime. So... my M3 is going.

tough call. the M3 makes more sense to keep since its a sedan and has a DCT. The M2 is going to hold value better though.

if your M2 is manual, be prepared. The porsche GT shifter, clutch, and directness blow away anything from a modern BMW when you're on it. The BMW shifter is easier to use around town and in traffic though.

that and the sound is part of the reason why i'm considering dumping the f80 manual for something auto/dct, more of a grand tourer and enjoyable at normal speeds.

Yes, the 2cs is manual. The 3cs sees the track; great space, don’t need a trailer for spares and tools; etc. The GT cars have that howl reminiscent of the 993s.
That sound is still sooo fuvking mental. Idk how Porsche has remained so consistent with it. Really is amazing after all these years. Its like that gf that was the best in bed out of all of them over the years, but she’s not marriage material, I remember where she lived, and have had the random thought of sneaking back over her place from time to time.

It’s make no sense but the timing might be good again. Current market is absolutely insane with the markup on used and new Pcars. Love the F8X generation and at the end of the day it doesn’t matter - it’s about the fun factor but that is probably me trying to justify lol. Tough decisions I really better not drive a gt4 again.

This is funny. 2nd video in 5 days. AMG upstaging in M's pitifully narrow space.

Sounds very Ferrari-like with the wail of the FPC V8.

Interesting to see Ford and GM moving away from the generic for their specialty vehicles while BMW is doing the exact opposite.

The GT4 engine is not related to the GT3, although it still sounds good but not as raw with the banshee sound that GT3 is famous for.

I think having both M3cs and M2cs is redundant as they have the same motor. Personally I would keep M3 and get GT4.

Also unless you’re getting good discount, i would wait to get allocation and custom order a GT4. I was offered several at MSRP late last year when i was shopping for my 911.

From what I gather, the Sport PASM option is more than just lowering springs. The spring rates have also been increased (necessitsting the need to add helper springs in the rear) as well a full recalibration of the PASM damper programming to deal with the higher rate springs. Porsche don't do things halfway
