Rear Wheel Bearing Issue

Hello All!

I haven't driven my car in a few weeks as it's pretty cold up here by Chicago.

I drove my car to get some new tires mounted when I heard a horrible grinding/Cracking noise coming from my rear left wheel. I put it up on my lift and It turns out my Rear left Wheel bearing is completely shot.

I have carbon Ceramics breaks on my car from BMW. Do I need special wheel bearings or are they the normal ones used on all regular disk cars? Might be a stupid question but I'm not too familiar with this.

If anyone has a guide to replace them that would be great too!

I would start by getting the part number from realoem.com and using your VIN. That way you'll get the right one, though I can't answer if it's the same as non-CCB optioned cars.

Edit: I attached from my car, 2016 F80 M3 non-Comp, non-CCB so you can compare

Hey Crookie48,
Just curious. Did you have any trouble getting the cv axel out of wheel hub when you replaced bearing?

Mine seems to be frozen in wheel hub?

Thx, !
