For those who’ve switched from M4 to M2 - pros/cons?

I've never driven the M2. Those of you that have switched from current Gen M4 to current M2(c), give me the pros and cons you've experienced?

Never downgraded to an M2 but I imagine one con would be that you downgraded to an M2

Less luxury. Slightly less weight. Slightly less performance. But hey, the car mags love them for some reason.

It's like a guy who has a nice pair of augmented size D tits attached to a fit body with him every night. For some reason he thinks the other pair of augmented size D tits [performed by the same plastic surgeon as the tits he has at home] attached to a different fit body is significantly better.....

...when really they are just about the same.

M2 handles better and difference in speed is negligible as a daily. I do miss many creature comforts though such as full leather (M2C dash is garbage for an M car), HUD, size (for a daily)

Interior is a downgrade. Was a major factor when I was in the market.

I'm a base M2 owner and I'm looking to upgrade to an M2C but I don't believe the M4 is that big a step up from an M2C.. It's basically the same car with a few more amenities and wider stance..

I certainly wouldn't call it a "downgrade" more like a "seat change".

I currently own an M2C. Came from an F82 fully loaded to an M2C, M3CS, and TTS.

I love all cars for different reasons. I was providing OP feedback assuming it was going to be his only or primary vehicle. Everything stated was a fact and was just a comparison between what's missing with a hint of criticism.

I like the size and now the M2C has a real M engine. It may not be as quick or have as much horses, but handles better. It just has a crap interior for a car that would have costed more than my M3 ZCP with the ultimate package. I’ve if it had a decent interior I would have gotten the blue. Having said that - I’ve really fallen in love with my Austin Yellow.

When you come from a full leather interior ///M4, going to an ///M2 does feel like downgrade. The dash materials, door panels, etc. are all noticeably better in the ///M4. The M2C is a bit better with the ///M4's front seats, the S55, and some other upgrades.

Yes, the M4 looks better and has softer leather but in the grand scheme of things, they're both similar, modular vehicles.

Yep biggest and only significant difference is in the interior

I had an m2c loaner last recall on my m3 comp, the plastic dash with faux stitching is hilarious compared to full merino upper and lower dash on m3, the elephant testicle Dakota leather is very low rent for the money, and then there's the missing tech like hud, front cameras, birds eye camera, electric rear blind, ambient lighting, adaptive LEDs etc

From a design pov both 2 and 3/4 dash are looking dated now, but the 3/4 just about hangs in there when you have the full leather and above tech

I would admit in the context of this thread, the m2c does look better than an m4. The m4 just doesn't have the same widebody effect as the 2 or even 3

On the track the M4 is more stable. Longer wheelbase, more favourable geometry and lower centre of gravity. Not dramatically different, but noticeable particularly under heavy braking and long sweeping high speed corners.

I am not saying it is better, just different

I like the looks of the M2 over the M4. Interior is def a step down in the M2, but unless you have full leather it's not like the M4 interior is so luxurious anyway.

The interior space is also pretty cramped in the M2. No adult will want to sit in the backseat if that is an issue.

The short wheelbase and "tossability" probably make the M2c the better drivers car.

The M2 was introduced as an entry level M car, and the materials and options choices reflected that. In M2C guise, it now shares nearly all of its chassis and drivetrain with the M4. But, it will never have the same interior materials nor all of the features of the M3/M4. It's still an entry level M car while the M3/4 is not. Those are the facts.

You can apply that thinking to any two M cars.

Elephant Testicle

Come on guys the rear end on the M2 is trash. Squished and Fugly. I wanted to like it and it was a decent car on a short track but the M3/4 are (and should be) the better cars.
