In terms of practicality the size was too long to shoehorn it under the hood/bonnet and the crankshaft(because of its length) could/and would break under stress... So it won't be a inline 8 I'm pretty sure... 300SLR. Probably the greatest sportcar ever together with the 250 GTO, McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_300_SLR Cheers Robin Last edited by Robin_NL; 09-09-2013 at 02:22 PM.. |

Haha
Its just his head catching the light from the projector of course (you can see the shadow it makes on the screen), but what's funny is it actually looks like he's wearing a tinfoil hat. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tin_foil_hat So conspiracy theorists - there's your angle! |

I was told that it was indeed a tri-turbo and that this information has already been sent out on informatics to the dealers... but could still end up being the alpina engine aMplified.
I think the debate now is power to weight ratio, just how much carbon fiber is in it, will it have the 8 M-DCT or 7 as suggested before, electric third turbo? and will it smoke a carrera s or C7 vette. Oh and will they offer AWD for icier climates. And hopefully it comes with ethanol resistant injectors and hpfp |

I am looking forward to ordering my White M3 Sedan in June 2015 (want a full year to flush out bugs). If it is a V6 - Forget it!

1 twin-scroll for the low-end along with 1 larger (sequential?)turbo for the latter half of the band. My guess is something like that.

Finally the V6 rumors can be put to rest.

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...0#post14468230 Post #51 I'm shure you did not want to express this in your argumentation... but you're absolutely right! For achieving these ambitious goals a V6 would be the more intelligent, more obvious and more sensible way to do it! Unfortunately the main key fact nobody discussed yet: If we get a capacity beyond 3L (and I was told so, so were many other in Germany with good contacts into the M/GmbH), we won't get an I6! We won't get a turbocharged S54... Quite simple, isn't it? |
