For variety:

Why the same interior colors as always? Can't we add that Amaro Brown? OR CINNAMON NOM NOM NOM e46>u

I don't want to *have* to pick black if I get AY. And that beige is dullsville.

Engine and Bearings

I mostly want to know about the technical differences between N54/55 and S55. I also heard something about elastomeric bearings, but i cant find anything explaining them in automotive use.

+1 to Joe's questions

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Come on, buy a Lotus if this is what you want.
An M3/M4 is premium + fat, as opposed to spartan + lightweight.

Yes, I know there used to be a CSL. But the 200 lbs or so weightsavings is still relative if your base car is already 3300 lbs.

Consider a 2100 lbs Lotus Exige...

Why did you feel the m3/4 didn't need more power than what's offered?

What will be the top 5 countries in which you need to sell?
Dates of marketing?
What is your sales prospect?
Not believe that this limiting equipment list and options?
Why using a turbocharger Mitsubishi that brand over others?
If they thought of using an intake manifold for short stroke engine?
Are larger fuel injectors from the previous model?
Because no increased engine displacement to 3.3 l ?
Suspension differences will exist in the model specification of USA compare to the rest of the world?
When she got a version GTS?
There will be a M4 Grand Coupe?
Hope to see colors frozen?

Would be great if we could finally hear their statement.

And as already mentioned, why don't they offer more different colours, and why only one metallic black (and it's the "least special" Black Sapphire, not even an M colour as Jerez Black oder Carbon Black etc.).
This.. The OP took the words right out of my mouth. Color choices and why lack of LED taillights. And the estimated date of a competition package.

Forgive me if these have been asked already:

1. Will Space Grey be offered?
2. When will the perf pack be available and what will it entail?
3. Is the sound from the baffles opening/closing or piped in?

Thanks, Jason

Some of you guys are so ridiculous. Let's see...it has more power than the outgoing generation and is lighter than the outgoing generation. This is an everyday driving machine. It is not a super car. It is not a muscle car. It is not even a sports car. If you want to go from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds then you are going to need to buy a GT-R.

That said, are you even aware of how easy it is to get more power out of most forced induction systems?

Agreed.

Except that the M3 would not be a sports car. It is.
It will run 0-62 in 4.1 seconds, has sport brakes, seats, suspension, tires, exhausts, track-ready cooling and oiling (to be verified), LSD, sport transmission, ...

If that's not a sportscar, I don't know what is...

I would like to know premium audio option--Bang & Olufsen?

Agree with other points already posted.

Hoodline blows--don't like seeing the straight edge of hood.

Some questions have gone beyond parody.

Media only get a few minutes with each rep and there is an advisor to make sure future product plans are not revealed, so they cannot answer every question.

1) When will a comp package be available
Not at launch.
2) When will euro delivery start for US
Summer 2014.
3) Base price with option list, fuel economy and full specs
Revealed at launch.
4) True car weight with steel brakes
Revealed at launch.
5) Will the U.S. every see a limited edition track/ltw model. These build the brand even if sold in small numbers.
Special edition performance models are determined on federalisation and customer demand , federalisation on a model could be too expensive to implement. But this is early days such a car would not be seen until 2016 at the latest.
6) Why can someone not remove items like stereo, air conditioning, power seats as options to remove weight.
American customers want and demand luxuries.
7) Is a sunroof an option
A sunroof is available if you do want one.
8) Did/have you experimented with a V8 in the M3/4
The purpose of new lightweight technology is too look at the outgoing car and see what can be changed for the incoming car. The new engine contributes to a lighter yet more powerful car .
9) What were additional items you looked at to remove weight? From the pictures I see the exhaust if quite portly and could save a few pounds.
If there is room to progress for further higher performance you cannot show all your cards on one go.
10) Will be see a M4GC
A decision will taken on Gran Coupe in the same way BMW can co-exist the M5 and Gran Coupe . Around two years of the on sale date of the M3 Sedan.
Gran Coupe is a new model and BMW have to establish the standard Gran Coupe before committing.

Here's some general feedback from M3post enthusiasts
1) Need additional body colors
The palette for M3 and M4 is shown but BMW Individual is available at extra cost.
2) Non LED tail lights as a 2015 model is a joke, as is keyless entry and back-up camera's
Not all M customers are bothered by these details for some Performance and dynamics register more. Which is why details out weight the latter on a relevant Audi. In Europe BMW still have to sell customers base 420d models even with Halogen lights. Not all customers are concerned. They are happy they get a BMW.

3) M3 looks meaner than the M4, need to widen the rear fenders on the M4 and give it more curves for an aggressive stance.
The standard 4er Coupe is much wider than the standard 3er. Because of the wider track of the M cars the Coupe only requires a minimal increase in width.
The M3 is more pronounced because they have to expand the arches to accommodate the wider track.

4) Hood line only looks good in dark colors because its hidden - need more dark colors
There are dark colors in the M3 and M4 palette. But the Individual options are available at extra choice.

5) Wheel choice is ho-hum
The available options reflect the performance nature of the new cars with adequate size for grip and performance. Optional wheels will be available from M Performance and BMW winter accessories.

Further reasonable questions.

No concept. But will be revealed later in 2014.

Around autumn 2014.
- How much will the M4 Convertible weigh?
Significantly more than the Coupe.
- Will the M4 Convertible have a normal hardtop or perhaps a carbon fiber hardtop?
No.

Thanks very much for offering to take our questions!

No. Optional system by Harmon.

This will not be changed or rectified until possible next generation model. We hear rumours of aftermarket doing a rectification of this area. But if they compromise the safety of the car they are pursued legally by the manufacturer.
