That will just leave an M4 for someone that wants one.

Seems like he had a preconceived notion about the car before he drove it. Seems as if he had his mind made up already. Shouldn't have wasted your time.

No preconceived notions. Just hoping it was better than the previous V8 model and a BIG improvement over my current 335is DCT - which it is not. Still have to wait and see the cabrio in person. I know the drive won't be any different. But, the look and feel might be better. M4 still feels much heavier and still not as "torquey" as Sport/Sport + Overboost. Just my initial impression...

I thought it was better. A lot better. I thought it was nimble, and confidence inspiring. I didn't even really smash on it, either.
The cabrio is going to feel heavier. I would maybe find a place that would allow you to get some more seat time in it. Play with the settings more, etc. This is a lot to take in such a short amount of time. |

I currently own both M4 and a 335is. The M4 is WAY "torquey" than the IS in over boost. There is absolutely no comparison, the IS DCT doesn't respond like the M4 and it feels lighter than the 335is. Are you sure you drove an M4?

And, I laughed when reading this. ========================================= This is the ///M4 I drove... And, this is how it was equipped... I don't know how you drive your 335is. I drive mine in Sport/Sport all the time. With that, the DCT hits hard in ever gear with as little as 1/4 throttle. No overboost. The M4 does not. You still have to rev it up till you hear the sound through the speakers. Once it shifts from 2nd to 3rd, it really throws you back. Very impressive. However, it didn't feel $30K faster than my 335is, though. Right now, it is still #1 on my list...over the C7 Corvette, Jag, Lotus and 911. But, I have yet to do an extended test drive the Z06 or the Lexus RC-F. Bottom line, they all fail in comparison to the Nissan GTR. But, I am specifically looking for another hardtop cabrio. So, in the end, my choices are rather limited. |

I actually drove two. One SO 6MT and the BS DCT. But, I don't really care what you think. Enjoy your car. It obviously suites you.
I will post my opinions on the RC-F when it hits the lots later this fall - since I doubt any of you with an M4 will even test drive one. Besides, you don't even own a DCT. So, how do you know how the two compare? |

Geezus the v8 talk... Tell that to the poor shmuck that wanted to run on the toll road and got walked from a digg up to 120 mph and of course he gave me the finger as I took off on to my exit ramp lol... I am sure he loves the sound of his engine and the dust he was eating from my rear end.

This is one of the funniest things i've read on the boards. " A 335is pulls harder than the m4" Thats the reason some 335 owners have a bad rep. They think the 335 is the fastest car on the planet.

I never said a 335is pulls harder than an M4. I said a 335is DCT in Sport/Sport hits harder in every gear and feels more "torquey" than the M4 DTC that I test drove. But, the 6MT pulled much harder in every gear - especially from 2nd to 3rd. I just don't want a 6MT for a hardtop cabrio. Not on this vehicle.
Since when? In this price range, the GTR easily beats them all. |

How in the world that a 335i could pull harder than the new M3 or M4 that have 100 more HP an 100 more lb-ft of torque? Must be in efficient throttle, slowest auto shifting program, and DSC is on to cut throttle on shifts. And a little bit of salt.
But I am sure ADMAN will say he was not in these programs.

"I am not in these programs" And, I do not have a 335i. I have a 335is. So, it does not have 100 more HP and 100 more TQ. And, I do not have auto. I have 7-speed DCT. Again, I could really care less. I drove an M4 6MT and 7DCT. And, that's the impressions I got. It doesn't "knock your socks off" like the M6. Perhaps I've just driven a lot of vehicles. And, perhaps the M4 is not for me. : Why do you all care anyway? This is a thread about the Lexus RC-F. Bottom line, it is not A LOT faster than a 335is or even a slightly modded 335i with bigger turbos, DP and FMIC. At $90K, there are a lot of competitors out there with more power and better handling. But, not a retractable hardtop. So, I am still on the fence till the cabrio hits the dealerships. Then, I will decide... GFY |

You are also right - this thread is not about 335is You are wrong - this thread is not about Lexus RC-F. This thread is about BMW M4 versus Lexus RC-F. Therefore all M4 discussion is completely legitimate.

Please find a $62K car that has more power and better handling than the M3 or the M4 that is a couple thousand buck more.

Wrong: An M4 cabrio (loaded the same as my 335is) is $87K + tax & destination.
Even the coupe I drove was $83K. Where you buying your M3/M4 at for $62K? Weak... |
