I like the WiFi mainly since there's no cord to trip over or yank. Yes, you can flash from anywhere you have cell coverage, and there's always the "download map -> flash offline" method.

One thing I've been told to remember about WiFi flashing is to make sure no one calls you as that could possibly mess up the flashing process unless you "download flash later" and then turn off cellular

I've had someone call me but I didn't answer. It totally freaked me out…my mistake. My tuner always recommending to have the map downloaded and to flash in offline mode (BM3 offline, and cellular off).

There's no problem logging online with cellular on.

The latest iOS 15.5 appears to have fixed the spotty Ethernet connection issues with the BM3 app.

Make sure you install this update asap if you have issues with connecting over with Ethernet to thunderbolt adapters.

know what's funny, 2.5y later and they still haven't updated their wiki to reflect this shortcoming and yes, the bait & switch works for them, i went with bm3 because of this feature that doesn't exist. if i had known this i would've gone with MHD (just for the fact of false advertising).

"shortcoming", "bait and switch", you should run an election campaign with such claims You can certainly set up different maps in different map slots but that doesn't apply to OTS maps which are pre-packaged. Your lack of understanding on how multi-mapping works, including that of the competitors, is eye opening. Nothing was advertised that has not been delivered when it was released when it comes to bm3.
