Of course it won't sound the same as it won't be a naturally aspirated V8, but don't kid yourself, Mercedes does a better job with making better sounding turbo setups vs. BMW and you don't need to look further than the current CLS63.

By that logic, because the F80 sounds nothing like the E90, does it suck too?

Or does the fact that it's a better car (based off of objective performance data) than the last generation offset the lost engine/exhaust aggression?

The W205 C63 sounded pretty damn good in the most recent spy video I watched. About as good as a car can sound with a biturbo V8. And AMG still has about 5-6 (at least) months to continue tuning the exhaust.

Until S63 powered BMW's are running well into the 10's, they are not a match for M157 powered AMG's.
