Bad timing to sell an F8x?

Thinking about to sell my 2016 F82 with only 4500 miles!

Don't need to sell currently but figured a X5 would fit better my needs.

With the current situation, is there a market for an M4 currently? Of course I don't want to loose too much money.

Thoughts?

Car has still couple of months warranty and is in showroom conditions.

I think your stuck in a hard place for awhile. I'm patiently waiting to get back to an f80 so it's a good time for me 😏

I beg to differ.... Not everyone will adopt the new model right away and it also won't have any special incentives/programs on them till atleast the end of the first model year, so those who want to get into an ///M will opt for the used market....

I am cool to keep it for a while and get a used X5 for now.

Just don't want to have all the hassle and get 40k offered...lol

How much more are you expecting?

It's a 2016 and it's not like production of M4s has stopped

That's crazy low miles for a 2016. You would probably lose money selling right now. I would keep and see how this develops a few months from now. That low mileage will help if you decide to sell
Good luck

Production ends next months.

Need definitely something starting with 5xK...

It's in showroom conditions, DINAN Stage 3, KW HAS etc...

Not in rush as I said but would like to have an G05.

Showroom condition and low miles helps. The mods not so much I think unless you're selling to someone who wants those mods to begin with.

True.

I feel like showroom doesn't help as much considering our cars aren't that rare. Obviously more rare than a Honda but not as rare as one would hope.

Best of luck to you

Super clean car and crazy low miles, but there is more supply than demand right now and most of the demand is for 2017+ for a lot of reasons. I was really focused on 2017 plus for Carplay, warranty, etc. but found a crazy clean 2016 F83 CPO with only 27K miles that I was able to negotiate for just under $42K out the door. I think the reality is folks looking at 2015/2016 are trying to get into an M for a low price.

Point being? Drive it and enjoy it and considering selling when the market balances out.

Counterpoint - you don’t lose anything by trying to get what you want for it right now and there’s probably a whole segment of people who still have jobs right now that would pounce on a relatively good deal. Fast forward to later in the year, a good chunk of those people may be out of work as companies try and cut costs in a depressed economy. Add to that that the G8x platform is out, and you may be looking at a lot less interest in it.

If it doesn’t sell, flog the hell out of it and enjoy.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Agreed. My industry for instance is doing awesome, and hasn't been doing this great since the recession ~10 years ago. Not my intention to gloat, but to point out that not everyone is hurting. Someone out there has money and might be looking for a car, makes no sense to "not" sell it now any more or less than any other time. These cars aren't investments, unless the next gen bombs so hard that nobody wants one, which I find highly unlikely.

Whether you sell now or later - price is not going up.

I’m in same boat and have 2018 M3 CP also with just under 5k - not really looking to sell but I would consider trading it in for 991.2 GT3 if they come down in price.

From a buyer

Beautiful car! I'm in the market for your car! Here is what would make me think twice

It's private and not a CPO.

2016 is the last year before the stuff I know I'll want like CarPlay etc

4500 miles doesn't matter to me if what I'm looking at is CPOs under 35k since they're CPO.

I'd drive it to 8500-9000 and have your fun since you don't need to sell it anyway. Then sell.

That being said that's a stunning vehicle and I'd be proud to own it.

You could hold out and bank on a fanboy who detests the new line wanting something from an era they love. Again, you'll run into the 2016 thing.

If you want to sell, post it, see what interest you get... just because you post it for sale doesn't mean you HAVE to sell.

I posted my E46 ZCP for a price I was comfortable selling and had two cash offers within $1K in 2-3 weeks.. people are still buying... I just purchased a 2400 mile 2018 ZCP M3.

One thing to note is that you will do better parting out any expensive mods. If those are LM's you should part with them before you get serious about selling.... and you should really sell them to me... PM me
