new to me f80 - LED lighting question

Hey guys I just ordered a 2018 F80 from Carvana and I'm pleased with the miles, price and condition. My only gripe is the car doesn't have the upgraded full LED lighting package. I feel like this car checks 9/10 boxes other than the lights so I should be grateful that I found it. How does the "old lighting" compare to the full LED package?

I waited to order my F80, after the first LCI, because the rear incandescent lights made me twitch. I have the front and rear LED and like the aesthetics and having the ability to code the full potential of the front Adaptive LED's. There are many options out there both reasonably and unreasonably priced. You will get what you pay for though. The cheaper options have fitment & quality issues IMHO, based on what I have seen in person. The rear LEDs that are a bargain look like shit with the gaps. Folks ignore it though, as they are just happy to have non standard lighting. Since you got the car you wanted just shoot the sheets for a OEM set of the front LEDs. Good luck.

Thanks! So is the light swap up front something that's fairly easy to do yourself?

If you have a 2018 with base model lights you don't have the old lighting.

2015-2017 has base model xenons (ugly af imo) and optional full LED's (clean imo).

2018 has a base model LED's with black housings as standard (probably on your car) and upgraded icon style LED's with black housings as an option with executive pack.

The 2018 base model LED's looks like the pre LCI lights but they're a little different. I'm not a big fan to be honest, but to each their own. I think whatever year you get, you need the optional headlights.

BMW charges so much for them rather than make the nice ones standard because of suckers like me that notice.

I would check out the various YouTube videos and make that determination yourself. I think it can be easy, or throw you into a tizzy, dependent in abilities, patience, etc. good luck.

I have a 2018 F83 with a built date of Sept 2107 and it came with the Ikoc led adaptive headlights.
I would love to see a picture of the "Ikoc" lighting option. That misspelled name made me laugh out loud.
