Of all things (weight, engine, exterior), the Full Leather interior was the real deal breaker for me. It will really transform the interior to justify the price premium.

Already budgeted ~$20,000 in options: Full Leather Bicolor interior, CC BBK, M-DCT, LED headlights, Technology, Premium and Competition (2nd year) Packages.

Bring it on.

Same stupid exhaust hangers that fail repeatedly?? Sounds like fun to drive which is most important in an M3 variant imo.

I like it!

I bet nav will be standard now too.

If so, we're looking at least 63k base for the M3, 66k for the M4.

But that's just my speculation.

80kg lower than predecessor...

3706 lb-176 lb=3530lb

...not 3306.

that's 224 lb worth of difference....

Where are you guys getting 7,800?

Above 7,500 doesn't mean 7,800.

So ///Marketing was smart to post the dry weight. Everyone now thinks its like 400lbs lighter than its predecessor. And synchro match downshifting is the stupidest feature ever. If you don't want to drive a manual properly, just get DCT. Its pretty simple. Really hope that is off by default.

Other than that, the car sounds like it will be fantastic.

We took a ride with Bruno Spengler in the prototype and have an on-board video which I'll be posting soon. Great sounds from inside the cabin.

I honestly couldn't be any more happier with the initial specifications of the F8X M3/M4. As I passed on the E9X M3 (a future icon no less) for that extra something, my patience seems to be warranted and it looks like I'll be retiring my E46 M3 in two years as it stands now. Great job BMW M!

I don't think they are the production gauges. They look like crooked cut-outs slapped onto the black panel, to me.
Also notice that the first and second interior pics are from a different car. The first one has a non-leather dash with the interior trim piece covered, but the second one shows the black-gloss trim piece and has a leather dash.

I also noticed a speed-readout on the black panel!! I'm hoping for a full black-panel display.
