That would be perfect. I am totally fine with spending 85 to 90K on an M4, especially given the performance predictions that are being thrown around. I still feel that it will represent great value compared to other vehicles on the road. A 991 S is easily 120K, and that makes an M4 feel inexpensive (though that is still a chunk of change, don't get me wrong).

Base M3 will be IMHO around $62K, the M4 will be $65K. I think the S55 powerplant will be less expensive to produce than the outgoing S65. For one it will be using generic BMW parts instead of the one off block and crank that the older M motors used. We should get a pool going.

The new corvette stingray IS a different kind of vehicle - benchmarked against the Audi R8 and the 911.

The stingray will lower the average age of a corvette owner by 10 years, and will also dramatically change the buyer's profile.

I will look at the Stingray, and a Cayman S in addition to the M4. I wouldn't have remotely considered a prior generation Corvette.

I was looking at 335i M-Sport last time I was at the dealer. Holy Macaroni it was $60k with what I assume would be mostly standard equipment on an F80.

The F30 335i base MSRP isn't significantly more than the E90 but the new options are a lot more. So I'm expecting the M4 base to be in the mid $60k range but get crazy with the options and you'll probably be pushing close to $80k. A base M4 shouldn't be significantly higher than a fully loaded F32 435i.

Exactly how I feel also. Will definitely look at new AMG (C-class) too.

M3 with a decent amount of options will reach close to $80k, M4 above $80k with options.

Option/packages will go up, not just msrp.

With that price I would keep my e90m (eventually get it to a dedicated track car) and get the 981 cayman S (double duty street/track)....that would be pretty fun usage of cars!

I would still want a ride along in the new f80 though.

Unless the M4 GC just looks absolutely insane and changes my decision.

Will the M3 sedan retain the M4 front end just like the e90 versions?

Based on what spy shots have shown so far - no. It would somewhat diminish the value of the M4 GC after all.

Edit 7/17: I got that wrong.

Corvette <> M3...ATS-V?

So, I wonder when GM will build an ATS-V. If they can improve their global interior quality, it seems that they're on somewhat of the right track.

It'd be worth a test drive.

Let the flames begin.

Wouldn't you want a street car with a backseat? Cayman doesn't give you a lot of versatility day to day (unless there's also a minivan in the garage).

As my first new car I am really hoping the M4 is 80k fully loaded sans CCB otherwise I will be buying used farther down the road.

It looks like the C63 AMG Edition 507 sedan and coupe will retail for $70,000 and $72,500, respectively in the United States. That's the entry price for 507 hp and 450 lb-ft tq with the Mercedes. It will be interesting to see BMW's pricing strategy for there upcoming M3/M4.

BMW M4 Price?

I was searching around and saw a base of 60k for the M4. Is that correct. If so I am thinking. Well equipped one for just under 70k. I am so getting one if that's correct. Same price as a loaded AH3. With a lot less temperamental bugs.

I'm not sure where you got any of that information, but I believe everything you said is directionally incorrect.

BMW has not released any pricing for the F80 M3 or F82 M4.
